I was Tagged...6 unimportant things about myself

Dawn and Michelle have tagged me to tell 6 unimportant things about myself. Here they are:

1. I passed out Mardi Gras beads in Rome, Italy on New Year's Day of 2008. This little Italian girl is wearing some of the beads I gave her. 2. I won a twisting contest in the 6th grade at a class birthday party!

3. I shook Oprah's hand and snapped this picture of her when she came to Mississippi to tell us we were the fattest people in the nation.
4. I love to visit zoos. Here is a picture of me holding Connor when he was 8 months at the zoo in Birmingham. Since then, Connor has been to 3 different zoos! I wanted to go to the National Zoo while in DC, but no one wanted to go with me! Connor wasn't on that trip. 5. I helped my friend Karen decorate this tree at Merrehope, a historical home in Meridian, for the annual Trees of Christmas tour.
6.I love to create video slide shows of photos and put music with them. Here is one I created for Connor with the music Beautiful Boy...one of my favorite songs! Sometimes watching this makes me teary eyed. He is growing up so fast.

I had fun doing this post. Thanks Dawn & Michelle for choosing me. Now I would like to pass this challenge along to:

Diane, your answers are the most interesting I have read so far. Oprah, wow! I am impressed that you were able to get that photo. also, the little girl with the beads. Who would ever think to pass out Mardi Gras beads in Europe. Only you. You still have time to go to many zoos with Connor. :) I still have no idea how to put music on the computer.

Love you and your post, Jeanne

You are quite the traveler aren't you? One of the K teachers I work with goes to Italy often. She loves it there!

So you can twist. I think I used to try and always end up with a pain my my side LOL!

I looked at your video of Connor. It was very sweet!!! I also looked at the one of Cooper and noticed a bit of a southern twang in the voice of the person talking :) They both were fun to watch. Thanks for sharing and playing.

take care,
Dawn

Diane,

Wow I've been tagged for the very first time. I feel so honored! So I'm trying to think of 6 unimportant things about me. I thought yours were very important things about you. You met Oprah-hello! You were in Rome for New Years and then that beautiful baby boy Conner. I'm not sure I have any "unimportant" things about me that are that GOOD.

I loved that picture video. Especially the picture of dad kissing sleepy Conner and then the one when Conner was getting his hair cut. He reminds me so much of my son Kevin.

Okay I'm going to try to find my unimportant things about me and put it all together.

Thanks again!

Brandee :-)

Good morning Diane!

Very nice and interesting facts about you Diane!

Connor has such beautiful big blue eyes! He looks like your daughter!

I was soooo happy to see that photo of Oprah because she is my age and I always wondered how she manages to look so good on her magazine covers -- now I know she's air brushed! :-) Was she nice in person? My husband's nephew was recently interviewed by Oprah's friend, Gayle King, on her XM radio show about his Brooklyn Pizza Tour --he hopes he'll be featured on Oprah or Rachel Ray someday.

I love zoos too! The Natioanl Zoo is nice -- go next time -- it's small and has lots of hills to walk up, but the pandas there are so cute!

Diane, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this post, especially your slideshow of your Beautiful Boy, Connor. I was teary-eyed and smiling at the same time.

I thought your "UN-important things," were worthy of being IM-portant things. It's fun to get to know our blogging friends a little better through tags like this one.

You have inspired me to make a slideshow of our three-year-old granddaughter Avery Grace. She's growing up so fast and it will be fun to look back at how tiny she was just a "blink" ago. I'm sure I will be teary-eyed before I finish it, though.

Sincerely,
Janie

Diane, you shared such interesting things about yourself. I am certain the are all important, not unimportant at all.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting- it is so fun to meet new people. I see you are in Meridian. That is where my husband's grandfather and uncle lived. My mom and dad are from Laurel and I was born in Jackson, so Mississippi is very familiar. I have never heard of York, AL. I will have to look it up.
