Amateur Photographer

Here is a picture made recently of Connor with my old digital camera. I bought it when he was a baby and finally replaced it when Cooper was born. I've told Connor that he could have the camera, but he has to keep it at my house and use it with an adult. It is pretty big and bulky. The camera holds those little CD's. I don't think they make those anymore!

Here are some of the things he photographed one day when he stayed with me. We talked about 'interesting' things to photograph...and it was fun to see what he thought was 'interesting!'

This first one is the ripple in the water after I threw a rock in the lake.
Of course he had to throw several rocks. That activity interested him for a while!
Here are some wild flowers in a vacant lot. I think he did a good job, and the camera still makes wonderful pictures.

And finally this one...his favorite...an armadillo headed for cover after he tiptoed outside to photograph it!
Please visit Deborah at Pictures, Pots and Pens for more Favorite Fotos on Friday.
Thanks for stopping by!

And stop by my daughter's blog Sassy Southern Mom for some older family pics she posted this week.

What a wonderful experience to share with Conner, Diane.

His pictures are great and I'm sure they will remind him of that day spent with you for a long time.

Sincerely,

Morning Diane! Wow he did a great job! It's so much fun to see things through kids eyes! You are smart to keep that camera at your house; my mother-in-law gave my daughter her old one when she was still too young and of course it got broken when I wasn't there! It's great to get a hobby going that they can use forever (he'll be setting up his own blog soon!!)lol Thanks for the compliment on wall quote (I'm not sure if it will stay long!lol) Have a great weekend - Jeannette

You may have a budding photographer on your hands.

I'm trying to get my 10 yr old interested in it, but so far no luck - it doesn't involve a ball or running so....

What a clever thing to do introducing Connor to photography at such a young age...it'll help him notice the beauty in all things around him, hopefully. He is doing GREAT...better than me!

Conner did a gereat job with those pics. I love the ripple of the water. I love taking pics also and still have my old 35mm cannon camera that has to have film. I can't seem to get rid of it. I really need to pull the ole thing out and start using it again. You know those digital ones are just easier.

Oh my word..the little fellow puts me to shame....he is a natural at taking pictures! He is braver than me also with that armadillo creature...ohhhhh I can't stand to see one..they look like a prehistoric thingie! lol lol One night I was sitting on the front porch and I thought our cat was in the hawthorne bush and I told her to get out and she didn't come to me so I got up to gently tap on the bush and tell the little stinker to get out of there and it was the mother of all armadillos!!!!!! Oh I sreamed and jumped straight up in the rocking chair and called Bill at work on my cell phone....hyperventilating...crying ...trying to describe the monster that was now easing up on the porch close to me...Bill was trying to calm me down (while choking back his laughter..mind you!)I just happen to have the broom beside me becasue that was what I had been doing on the porch in the first place..sweeping it off...so I gently tapped the creature and it shot straight up in the air and had done cleared 5 feet before his legs knew what had happened...man those things can run!!!!lol lol Have a great weekend girl!

What a darling post. Aren't kids the best? I love the way their little minds work and they teach me so many wonderful things. I love that you can have this these experiences with Connor.
I left a Happy Birthday post for Jonathan and Blogger ate it!!!
Wish him a Happy birthday a day late. it is awesome he is going to graduate school. You must be proud of both him and your daughter. I have never seen an armadillo in the woods:)
