Window to the world

Cielo at the House of Roses is hosting a blogging event. Here is one of my favorite windows in my home. I don't have any window treatments on these French doors in the dining area that lead out to the porch because I don't want anything to block our view. I love being able to see the outside from the doors, while enjoying the porch view too.

I really love the wooded area behind our home. We have just a few feet of a back yard before the woods area begins. It is not uncommon to see wildlife in the woods from the French doors and the porch. Often, I have stood very quietly and watched deer, rabbits, squirrels and of course birds from the porch and the French doors. These next two views are from within the porch....looking out the screened windows.

This past spring I planted these large elephant ears right outside the porch. They will have to be dug up next spring since they have grown almost to the top of the porch and are blocking my view!

All the pictures are edited with the Fresco effect from Photobucket. Hope you've enjoyed my favorite window to the world. Please visit The House of Roses for other favorite windows!
I hope to stop by your blog and see yours.
Have a great day,
Diane

I have wanted french doors for a while now, but they don't seem to fit into our style of house. The view you have is wonderful! We have conservation area behind our house. I like seeing the bits of nature that I have seen. I understand your feelings :)

I love the fresco effect of your pictures.

take care,
Dawn

I LOVE your french doors. I want some too but we can't decide if we could do the "project" ourselves. Yours are beautiful and I too love looking outside and seeing all the critters. Yesterday we had the sprinkler on all morning, and we had a robin-fest...there were just tons of robins in the sprinkler hopping around and finding grubs or worms or whatever to eat. Your elephant ears are HUGE and pretty.

I'm still on cloud from the win.....

Diane, your french doors are beautiful. I so agree with no window treatments. I think your home is so lovely and now that I see the view in the back it is even more lovely. What a wonderful way to wake up every morning. We feel the same way about our home with the view. We are indeed blessed. The fresco pics are outstanding. I want to be able to do that. New thought, use the fresco pics in your frames for sure.

Hugs and wishes for a good school day today...Jeanne

How pretty! I agree with you; windows should not have the view blocked, especially if the view is a good one, and yours is!

Diane...your views AND your artwork are enchanting! I have all open windows facing the woods, too. I told my hubby I'd love to knock out the entire back of our house facing the woods and have all windows!! He about died at the thought!!! Enjoy every second of 'enchantment' through those windows!

Hi Diane! Such a pretty view you have; I'm jealous of your privacy! I just checked out a few of your posts I missed and I adore the one of Connor and Cooper in the car; reminds me of those days in the mall putting quarters in the machine!lol The sunset on Kelli is another beauty! Have a great day - Sincerely, Jeannette

Mother nature gave you the prettiest window treatments you could have! I can see why you wouldn't want to cover them up.
