Trash to Treasure: Christmas Finds

Welcome to Trash to Treasure on Tuesday. Please link your treasures at the bottom with Mr. Linky. I look forward to visiting you!

A few days ago I went to the Hope Village Thrift Store and spent $2.50. I really don't need any more Christmas decorations, but I came away with three little Christmas treasures.
If you get them so cheap that makes it okay-right???

I really like Christmas sayings, and found this little plaque. I have it hanging inside a wreath that I've had for awhile-I'm not sure if the faux leaves are bay leaves or olive branches. It is hanging on a doorway in the kitchen and will be surrounded with Christmas cards. I think this would also be cute to decorate a package.
I also bought this gold star basket. At first I wasn't sure what I would do with it, but I think it would make a great container for a small Christmas gift, or maybe Christmas candy. For now it is displayed standing up to serve as a backdrop for one of my small nativity scenes.
And last but not least, this cute little shirt for Cooper! It says "I've been good all year...mostly!"
So, think about what you've bought, found or had given to you that no one wanted and has become a treasure to you. And add to Mr. Linky if he is here....there have been issues with him today on lots of blogs! If he is MIA, check back later...he has been popping in and out today. LOL
Thanks for stopping by!

Cooper is just too cute.

Love the gold basket idea.

Sorry you missed out on the trip to New Orleans. But I bet you will make it happen soon.

Diane, I loved your finds! And that shirt is precious, but what is even more precious is what is in the shirt! I think you did very well with your finds today.

BTW, I accidentally put my blog name instead of my name, and i have one more picture to link before i link up with you. I will get linked up in a few. My mind is on auto pilot. Loooooong day out shopping. Not complaining, but even for a magpie, it was something -- a shop till you drop and then visit a friend you haven't seen in a month kind of day. :-)

XO,

Sheila

I haven't written a post about it, but I wanted to share a find I made a month or two ago. One morning, my husband and I were coming back from breakfast at a local diner when we noticed a what we thought was a (very nice) toddler desk at the curb with the trash cans at a house up the street from ours. I made my hubby get out of the car and take a look. The desk was clearly in the trash, and he said he could see nothing wrong with it, so we stuck it in our trunk and brought it home. It turned out to be an activity center with a piano keyboard under the desk. It's awesome, and our toddler loves it.

We saw the exact activity center today at Walmart for $99.97. I almost fell on the floor. What a great treasure we found! Ever since, we go past their house on trash day every week! :)

Good morning Diane--I love your Christmas finds! Cooper is adorable in his shirt! I would like to link up with you this morning, but I don't see Mr. Linky at the bottom of your post.

Good morning Diane. I really like that plaque. I have a collection of Gingerbread people that I display. I also like the star. I received a gold star last year filled with candy. It's quite lovely.

Oh, Coopers shirt is just perfect! What a cutie.

take care,
Dawn

The star looks so pretty with your nativity set. I especially liked the little shirt cooper has on. He sure is a beautiful child.
I had a post ready to link up for Trash to Treasure today and I can't find Mr Linky.
I can save it in draft until next week.

You're still out getting all the deals. Looks like your cutie pie loves your deals. Keep it up! I'm needing some ideas for Teacher Gifts this year for my own children. Any ideas or recommendations on what would make their day???
