Got computer blues??? Try the AVG free virus program!

My computer has been sick lately causing me to feel a little blue and not enjoy blogging as much. All of the programs were running really slow, and it was taking all the fun out of blogging and everything else because I was so frustrated. Somehow I had contracted a virus, and the McAfee that comes with Comcast didn’t have the fix for it!untitled

I tried searching the internet and tried all the steps outlined on different sites for repairing a slow computer. Someone told me about the AVG free virus program. I downloaded it and uninstalled the McAfee, and within a few hours the program had identified a whole host of ‘threats, viruses, and infections’ that had taken over my computer! And the AVG found threats and infections for three days straight before the computer was cleaned up!images26

I can’t say enough good things about this program….I would have gladly paid for it since it found stuff that the McAfee had overlooked and let in!

Then, I had my friend’s son order some more memory and now I have double the RAM that I had before. This has made the computer so much faster! Someone explained it to me like this: The hard drive is like your file cabinets with all of your work stored in folders, but the RAM is like the surface you spread out on to work. The larger the surface, the ‘faster’ you can find things and get your work done! This put it in terms that made sense to me!

So if you want to try AVG, click here. Be sure to uninstall your other virus software first. Of course if you aren’t having problems, I think I’d let well enough alone!

Hi Diane, so glad you got your computer all cleaned up--I hate when things go wrong with mine. I'm thinking of adding more RAM to my computer too--it really does make a difference!

I was wondering about you, Diane. I'm so glad you are back up and running again. Thank you for telling us about AVG. My computer just keeps on humming along, but I will keep AVG in mind if I ever have a problem.

Hope your "Blue Monday" is filled with sunshine. It looks like it's going to be a stormy one here in Vicksburg today.

Hi Diane!

I hope you had a Happy Mother's Day! I'm so behind since I returned from Colorado...I'm
always desperately trying to catch up without luck..lol

I use Norton's antivirus and Ad-Aware. I think they're both p[retty good at removing viruses and malware.

I think my brain need more RAM -- wish I could buy some! :-)

Hugs, Pat

Dandy advice! I was having the same problem and bought a system cleaning tool.....later I tried something else and it STILL had all the bugs. I'll try this one for sure.

Blessings!

Nothing makes us bluer than when our computers don't work properly. Very clever blue Monday post.

I discovered AVG about 2 months ago when a computer tech was cleaning out my slow computer. It's really been a lifesaver.

I'm going to have to remember about that program. I think my computer needs a tune up but it will have to wait until school is over!

I hope your not still feeling blue!

take care,
Dawn
