2nd Time Around: Hand Painted Basket from Portugal

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

This time of the year it’s really hard to find much at yard sales, etc. It is too cold for most people to have one, and if they did it would be too cold to get up early and go! So, I try to go to the area thrift stores at least once a week to see if any treasures can be found!

I’m usually looking for items for my flea market booth, or vintage jewelry, but occasionally I find something I like to hang on to. This little hand painted porcelain basket from Portugal was one of those items! It is so cute, and the perfect color for my sage green bathroom. And I am always attracted to items made somewhere besides China!

I took several pictures because I thought I would put it in my Etsy shop, but since then, I’ve decided to keep it. It is perfect for those small things like nail clippers, etc. that are always needed quickly and usually get lost in a drawer! Who knows…later it may end up in one of the booths, or in my Etsy shop, but for now it has a home in the bathroom!

That's such a sweet piece, Diane! I don't blame you one bit for hanging on to that. It's a definite keeper.

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love your basket, Diane. It reminds of handpainted Italian porcelains, which I find hard to resist when I see them in flea markets.

Your basket is a great find. I love the hand painted porcelain from Spain and Portugal. Are you keeping it? smile.
I did my post on our grandson's wedding Diane. There was nothing thrifty to share. The only vintage thing was me. I am the oldest one in attendance next to my hubs. Sigh! But we had fun. Come and see.

Warm hugs, Jeanne

That's why I could never have an etsy store...I'd keep everything for myself, lol! But recently I picked up some clothes at a thrift store, washed and ironed, and turned a profit at a consignment store. Woo hoo!

It's really pretty Diane! I'd keep it too. I know what you mean about everything being made in China ..it's always a thrill to find something made somewhere else thses days.

Good morning Diane. I am going to join in tomorrow although I am still thinking about what to post. I am just happy to have some time to get back to what I truly love to do. Visiting my friends like you.
We still have lots of snow here. Sigh!
Hugs, Jeanne
