2nd Time Around: A Vintage Watercolor

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

I really am not a big fan of auctions, but this past Sat. I decided to go to one. There was not much else going on, and I planned to go to the preview and then leave if there wasn’t anything that was worth my time.

I ended up running into an old friend, and while we were catching up, this watercolor of parrots came up and I decided to jump in. I don’t have much confidence in myself at auctions, but I ended up with this work of art! I really love it, and had a couple of vendors who have had much more experience than I have take a look at it, and they both priced it much higher that I did!  So, I marked it up! It may not sell, and if it doesn’t that’s okay! It may get a turn coming home with me in the spring! I think it would look great on my porch. I thought about painting the frame…what do you think? And what color??

Good morning Diane, We are back home and we have a bit of snow this morning.

I love the parrots and I don't mind the frame just like it is now. I hope it sells fast. Smile.

Hugs, Jeanne

It is beautiful and I like the frame fine as is. If you were to paint it I might try a shade of blue. Or go bold and bright red!

It's a very pretty and colorful painting, Diane. I attended an art auction once and was overwhelmed by how fast the bids added up. I did not buy a thing, but I enjoyed the free champagne being given out..lol!
