Bargains on Perennials

If you shop Lowe's, be sure to check their sale rack in the garden center. They are always putting flowers on the carts for 1/2 price or less.

It is too late for annuals, but this is a good way to build your perennial garden. You can plant them now, and keep them watered. Hopefully, they will pop up next spring and you'll be so glad you planted them.
Recently I bought these...Coreopsis, a purple looking sage, and Achillea. All three are perennials that I don't already have. I'm already looking forward to next spring. Just hope I don't forget and think they are weeds. LOL

Be sure to check out Sassy Southern Mom, my daughter's blog, and look at her new thrifty project!

Have a great day...and be sure to leave a comment for the drawing..only 2 more days left!

  12. Morning Diane! Trying to catch up. Love your new beautiful header. I spent Sunday putting down 18 bags of mulch in one area and complained I was getting rid of gardens. Now I might have to go to Lowes and reconsider - thanks a lot!lol Need to check out what else you've been up to. Have a great day - Sincerely, Jeannette

  17. Diane, you are amazing. Thinking about spring already, but I know the perennials are cheaper now. Yours are looking great. Not much of a chance I will be planting anything for this winter.

We need to seed this fall where construction took the grass and killed it.

    How's school?

    Hugs, Jeanne

  19. Thanks for the tip.. Perennials are great! They tend to keep color our garden all season long.
Don't forget what they are next year and pull them...lol
Your grandsons are adorable:) I peaked in at your daughters blog and thought something weird happened to my blog as we have the same background. I have said I am slow... maybe not just in moving...;)lol

  20. Evening, Diane!! Spring? I haven't done Thanksgiving or Christmas yet!! Yikes! You know, you're right! I found a little ivy plant that looked a little sick at Lowe's and brought it home. Thought I'd just plant it in the flower bed on the shady side and it's been there for about 6 years and the leaves are huge!
I'm off now to check out your daughter's site.

    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  22. Congrats on that 100th post! I have a little way to go. Please enter me too. Our Lowes does the same things. With all this rain we have been getting, now would be a good time to pick some up. Thanks for the reminder. Jackie

  23. What a great idea to pick up bargain plants! I am thinking of planting winter flowers right now. Living here in Southern California we plant and have flowers bloom all through the year, including winter! I did go buy some great tulip bulbs for spring!
