It is too late for annuals, but this is a good way to build your perennial garden. You can plant them now, and keep them watered. Hopefully, they will pop up next spring and you'll be so glad you planted them. Recently I bought these...Coreopsis, a purple looking sage, and Achillea. All three are perennials that I don't already have.
I'm already looking forward to next spring. Just hope I don't forget and think they are weeds. LOLBe sure to check out Sassy Southern Mom, my daughter's blog, and look at her new thrifty project!

Morning girl....great find & great idea to get them in the ground now cause come spring they will come up bigger & thicker and while others are buying a one year growth you will already had plants that look like a 2 year growth for the price of seedlings! lol I went over toyour daughter's...that shelf turned out beautiful...it would be pretty in any room...love that she painted it black! Evening, Diane!! Spring? I haven't done Thanksgiving or Christmas yet!! Yikes! You know, you're right! I found a little ivy plant that looked a little sick at Lowe's and brought it home. Thought I'd just plant it in the flower bed on the shady side and it's been there for about 6 years and the leaves are huge!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to pick up bargain plants! I am thinking of planting winter flowers right now. Living here in Southern California we plant and have flowers bloom all through the year, including winter! I did go buy some great tulip bulbs for spring!
