A Lazy Way to Decorate

Last week when I added the few little fall decorations that I put out, I knew that the sideboard in the dining room was going to need a little more. I've been seeing so many cute ideas on blogs, and I wish I had time to do some of these projects, but to be honest, I'm doing good to do the necessities around here!
So I'm taking the lazy way out...adding to the sideboard decor with a plate I found at TJ Maxx! All I did was take it out of the car, and display it on my Southern Living Plate stand. It still has the sticker on the back. LOL Can't get much easier than that can you?? It did add a lot to the sideboard and looks great with the Jamestown tray and candles. Click here if you want to view it again.

In case you are wondering why I'm suddenly so obsessed with the fall decor, I'm having a Southern Living at Home party in a couple of weeks! I booked the party from my daughter's and I know I'll be glad I did this decorating when the guest finally arrive! Diane

Hey Diane, thanks for stopping by. The store that I got the hook from was not The Dollar store but a small seemingly independent dollar store. Wish I had more information for you.

Very cute plate! Yes, you'll be glad that you've done your decorating when the party rolls around!

I've done a little fall nesting too and was just thinking that I need to have a get-together. It's no fun to just decorate for yourself!

Love your plate, Diane. I'm sure your party guests are going to be copying some of your pretty fall decorating ideas ... especially your tray with the candles.

I hope you will take lots of pictures at your party to share with us.

Sincerely,

Janie

I hope your party is a success for your daughter. I have been to one of those parties and their items are lovely.

Hi Diane,

You have a very good eye. Nothing wrong with TJ maxx. There are so many fabulous items there. It has been a while since I've done a run through but I feel the store calling me-lol.

Your before and after photo's are amazing. You did a great job. The house looks so warm and inviting.

Have a great Thursday.

That plate is gorgeous! Don't you just love it when you find just one piece and it just makes your day?! We are finally cooling down quite a bit here in the ol' Northwest....I can't wait til they put the pumpkins out in front of the grocery stores. I am trying to stay away from TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods...and you are not making this any easier girl~friend!
Congratulations on your award...totally deserved!

It a very pretty plate and I love the easy and lazy way to decorate. With teaching school and all you seem to do, you are amazing to even decorate! I still love your 'goblet upsidedown pumpkin specialty' in your JamesTown basket.
It is beautiful!

We're guilty of having stickers on the bottom of things yet, too! Good luck with the party, that's always a good way to get things done!

Hello Diane...I have a story for your plate! I love it, by the way, and I know the artist. Judy Westgaard is a member of Great Impressions. GI is a private MSN decorating group. Rhoda of Southern Hospitality, Linda at Lime in the Coconut, Des of Peeking thru the Sunflowers and several other bloggers on my list, also belong to the board. It began as a public board in 2001. I joined in 2002. A few years later the board went private.
Judy W. is an amazing artist. An ornament, she painted, was used on a Whitehouse Christmas tree a few years ago. Besides the dinnerware your piece is from, Judy has a Christmas collection called Ribbons and Bells. They also can be found at TJ Maxx, Marshall's and HomeGoods, among other stores.

Nothing beats lazy decorating! I left a price tag hanging off of a lamp for the better part of a month recently (partially because I was so proud of the price, and knew no one would believe me, LOL!).
