I saw lots of blue in.....

I saw lots of blue like the blue in the sky and everywhere else in Gulf Shores, Alabama at the National Shrimp Festival! On my pink Saturday post I posted that I would be making a weekend trip, that it had something to do with shrimp and that it was a surprise!

Bo from Blinks and Winks from Brown Eyes guessed Gulf Shores and Janie from Southern Lagniappe guessed the Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores. They were both right
!
In all my years of going to Gulf Shores, this was my very first time to go to the National Shrimp Festival. You can click here to read more about it.
The trip was planned by my daughter and was a surprise for Chad to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. You are probably wondering why I was included in the trip. They renewed their wedding vows on the beach, and asked family members to be there to witness the ceremony and celebrate with them.

I took lots of pictures, and will share a few of them later in the week after I see which ones Kelli wants for her blog!

For today, I'll just post some of the blue I spotted at the National Shrimp Festival...which was everywhere...like this sign.

This cute little decorative hanging vases-the blue ones really stand out!
Fountains created from old brass and silver with a turquoise tint
Flamingos with a new twist..... turquoise in color!
Art created with bottle caps-I really liked this red, white and blue patriotic creation.
Here's Cooper dressed in BLUE. Everyone thought he was a girl. We finally got tired of correcting them and just smiled and said "Thank you" when he got a compliment!
And this picture of Connor modeling his cool new light up blue sunglasses. We had a great time at the festival, especially the two mornings that we went. It was pretty crowded as the day went on, and hard to see it all, but I really enjoyed it and would love to go back!

Sally from Smiling Sally has been hosting Blue Monday. This is my second Blue Monday post. It seems that I've started looking for blue along with the pink! Please visit Sally's blog for other Blue Monday posts. Thanks Sally for hosting this event. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day.

Your grandbaby IS pretty enough to be a girl. Dress him in a moustache so that people will understand that this is a REAL MAN growing up!

I saw that Maryland crab cake sign and thought, "That's what I'd have eaten!"

Enjoy visiting the other Blue Monday folks today.

Diane, what a wonderful weekend for your family. I have never heard of this festival. Where have I been? lol I love all of your photos too. Cooper is too pretty to be a boy, but he is all boy that's for sure. One of my sons was always being called a girl. He was a pretty boy too. I am going to click and find out more about the shrimp festival now.

Hugs...Jeanne

Aha...so it was Gulf Shores and a Shrimp Festival...but best of all, a wedding or re-wedding. Those grand boys of yours are so cute! it is no wonder people mistake either for girls...well maybe not Connor since he's older...I want to remember the saying on the sign about remembering friends. ;-) Bo

First, Connor and Cooper are adorable. The Golf Coast is beautiful and a shrimp festival makes it better.

Morning girl! Wow! Three great things all in one and with family to boot! That is my idea of fun! lol Would you believe I have never been to Gulf Shores???? I know...I know....but the kids go all the time...I want to go one day just to say I have been there! lol Your grandsons are adorable...everyone use to think my oldest one was a girl. If they could see him now in his waders and camo with duck calls hanging around his neck! lol I am so happy for your daughter & her hubby celebrating their 10th anniversary and how sweet of her to want all her family around her at such a time...must take after her sweet mama, huh?! Have a glorious day girl!

What a fun day for all of you! Looks like it was a beautiful day too. I used to have that trouble with my son, people thinking he was a girl even though I had him dressed in obviously boy clothes. Happy Blue Monday!

Love those hanging vases; just what I need. With cats around, nothing is safe sitting on the table; I might could hang them high enough to keep them out of paws' reach.
Looks like you had a great time!
