2nd Time Around Tuesday: Estate Sale Art

Welcome to 2nd Time Around Tuesday. If you love second hand treasures you are in the right place. Just create a post and link the title of your post to Mr. Linky below. You can post most anything...things from an antique store, garage sale, estate sale, thrift store, flea market....just use your imagination! Or maybe you have something that you inherited or was given to you-we would love to see that too!

Today I'm going to show 2 pieces of framed art I bought recently at an estate sale. Often estate sales in our area will last 2 days. The second day the prices are usually cut at least in half.

I didn't get to go to this sale on the first day, but decided to stop by on Sunday which was the 2nd day. One of my teacher friends was there and pointed out these 2 watercolors from Paris. She really thought I needed them since I had traveled there not too long ago. They were marked $45.00 each. I really liked them, and my friend encouraged me to just make an offer. So I did, and got both of them for $40.00!

They have a new home in my foyer area, right next to the piano.
This one is of Notre Dame Cathedral.
And this one is the Arc de Triomphe.

Later I may work on the frames and possibly the mats, but for now I just wanted to get them hung up!

Thanks for stopping by today! I look forward to seeing all the second hand treasures on 2nd Time Around Tuesday!

  1. What a great deal you got on those two great prints. They are framed so nicely! I still haven't framed some prints we bought in London because it costs so much to mat and frame them. Good buy!

Better grab my cup of coffee and get on my way. Be sure to visit Hot Chocolate Caramel Mocha and Three Bay B Chicks as part of your contest entry.

  13. Because the framing is professionally done, you got a fantastic bargain. How do I know about the framing? Because I have two prints, and one of them is the same as the second one you've displayed! Diane, we match!

Mr B took many picture of both of these places when he lived in France. When I saw these beautiful prints of yours last night, I asked him where they were. They would be beautiful framed also.

  45. Oh...I have a small collection (four pieces) of Notre Dame prints, so needless to say I'm loving yours! My most expensive piece was $10, I think, so it's one of my thrifty collections for sure. Your were a DEAL! They are framed so beautifully.

I bought something today that I want to include in a future Second Time Around...I was thrifting around with the mister (much to his dismay, lol) and even he approved. :-)

  46. Oh dear Diane. I did not realize that you already had your Tuesday special, and I went ahead and did a "pet buddy" Tuesday. I did not mean to infringe upon your day. Let me know if you think that it is okay. I am fairly new to all of this, and I don't want to upset anyone.
