Outdoor Wednesday: Walking if off in NYC!

Susan at A Southern Daydreamer is hosting Outdoor Wednesday. Please visit her for lots of other outdoor posts.

These are some random pics that I took while visiting New York City. My sister wore a pedometer the entire time, and I claim all the miles she put on hers as my own since I was right there with her! We enjoyed seeing the city by taking the subway and getting off to walk and explore different areas. I think we saw lots more this way!

The first day we were there, we were in Chinatown.

City Hall in the Financial District
This store that advertised 18 miles of books reminded me of Sally at Smiling Sally. It was near Greenwich Village and the Lower East Side

St. Pauls across from the World Trade Center was unharmed on Sept. 11

A New York Apartment building in Greenwich Village

A bronze statue near the World Trade Center memorial

This building made me feel secure....it was located near the ferry to Liberty Island

A street scene near our hotel

We didn't have tickets for David Letterman-wish we had!
Hope you enjoyed the 'virtual walk' through NYC through the eyes of a first time visitor. We put lots of steps on the pedometer. I didn't really worry too much about what I ate and came back 2 pounds skinnier!

Thanks for stopping by today!

  1. Good morning Diane, NY is one place you can walk for miles and enjoy every minute. You really covered some ground. I saw the Marquis for MAMMA MIA. When we (the five sisters) were in NY we saw the Broadway play. I know how much fun you had. Thanks for a fun post and all the great photos. Two pounds? You go girl.

    Hugs...Jeanne

  8. Hi Diane!

Fabulous photos of all our well know landmarks, and more! NYC sure isa walker town and you usually can get to a place faster than in a cab in traffic.

I didn't know Homeland Security had a headquatters near the SI Ferry .. it's been a few years since I've rode the ferry.

The Strand (giant bookstore) is a fun place to browse in -- it does have miles and miles of books!

I can't wait to meet you next time!

    Hugs, Pat
