A Vintage Doily

Today I'm participating for the first time in Vintage Thursdays at the Colorodo Lady's blog. Be sure to pop over there to view more Vintage posts.

This crocheted doily edged with pansies was left over from an estate sale that my son helped with. He brought it home, and I claimed it! I just found it while cleaning out a drawer recently. I think it will look so cute with a vase of fresh flowers on top!

Here's another picture with a closeup of the details.

Thanks for stopping by today, and hope you have a wonderful day~

  1. Hi Diane! How pretty your doily is. My grandmother used to crochet some like this and I certainly wish I had one.

  6. Brings to mind my grandma's crochet work. I remember the pansies she used to make. I didn't get them, but got a lovely rectangular doily with grapes as the edging that she made. I'll pop over and see what other vintage posts there are today.

  19. Those doilies used to be ironed with heavy starch so that the petals would stand up.
