This crocheted doily edged with pansies was left over from an estate sale that my son helped with. He brought it home, and I claimed it! I just found it while cleaning out a drawer recently. I think it will look so cute with a vase of fresh flowers on top!

ReplyDeleteIt's quiet lovely...I have tons of them packed away that my mother and grandmothers used to make. My mother was always making a something of sorts.

ReplyDeleteBrings to mind my grandma's crochet work. I remember the pansies she used to make. I didn't get them, but got a lovely rectangular doily with grapes as the edging that she made. I'll pop over and see what other vintage posts there are today.

ReplyDeleteGM Diane...my Mama use to crochet and I so remember her making this pattern..She would take them after she made them...and starch them with sugar water...girl they would be so stiff you could beat someone to death with them..Happy VTT girl..hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

Those doilies used to be ironed with heavy starch so that the petals would stand up.
