Not too long ago, I didn't even know what Edamame was! As part of a nutrition class I go too weekly, our dietitian introduced us to this product as a way to get more protein with fewer calories in our diet. Click here to learn more about them.
Here's a great article titled the Secret of Edamame that is an interesting read. See if you can find out which famous singer snacks on them!
Have any of you tried them? I would love to know your reaction!
Thanks for stopping by!
I love edamame! We often have them as an appetizer when we eat at a Japanese restaurant.
ReplyDeleteI also buy them at Costco. I usually rinse them to get rid of the extra salt they seem to have when they are packaged.
I've seen them used on some of the cooking shows I watch, but I've never eaten them. Might have to give them a try now.
ReplyDeleteHi Diane! DH loves these. They are supposed to be really healthy with lots of protein...Christine
ReplyDeleteYes, I've bought them before and I guess I like them. I did find them "boring" (in taste) after a while so I didn't buy any more. Maybe I need to find different ways to fix them to enjoy them more. PAM
ReplyDeleteHi Diane
ReplyDeleteI've never had them, but you have me convinced. I haven't been by for awhile so I've sure enjoyed catching up with you. Your NY trips sound like they were so much fun. I love NY.
Hugs!
Kat
I noticed them at Costco & Sam's but I have never tried them...I just may have to give them a try now. ~ Robyn

ReplyDeleteI have not yet...but I will...as i want to try and eat more soy! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Diane...I don't know how I've missed trying these, 'cuz I eat everything else that's not tied down...LOL...I'll check them out.

I recently discovered edamame and I love them!
ReplyDeleteNever had them. My niece loves eating them cold.
ReplyDeleteWe like edamame at our house. Besides, it's just fun to say :) Love the way the word sounds!
ReplyDeleteI have not tried this. I'll be looking for it though. Grandson Drew refuses to eat meat. He's done this from the beginning, when he started having solid food. This might be another good source of protein for him.
ReplyDeleteMy contribution, this week, is loaded with calories!!!!
Great post. I boil them, rinse and add a little salt and leave them in the fridge for munching or tossing on top of a salad. Very, very healthy form of soy.

Never even heard of them! Sounds like something I'd like, though. I'm off to Sam's in just a bit...I plan to load up! :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard of it but didn't even know what it was. Thanks for enlightening me!!!
ReplyDeleteI had it before, sometimes I eat it as a snack instead of junk food.
ReplyDeleteA great post! This was informative!
ReplyDeleteWe love our edamame here too! DH is a big fan!
ReplyDeleteI love edamame - makes a great snack at work, or as a substitution for popcorn during a movie at home!
ReplyDeleteI like edamame too... and I agree they taste like boiled peanuts!
ReplyDeleteI hope the bad weather did not come your way yesterday Diane! Watch out for all the tornadoes they are predicting for this Spring!
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend!

Happy Foodie Friday! Have a great weekend ~ Susan
ReplyDeleteI have heard of edamame but never quite knew what it was. Now you have intrigued me, and I'm going to have to try it. Sounds great, and anything that is a good snack without a heavy hit of calories is a good thing!

Diane I came over to your post early this evening and fell asleep while reading your post. LOL. I had a day where I never stopped all day. My daughter and her family will be here tomorrow for spring break and I had to clean, fit in therapy and a Dr. visit. A lot of activity for me.
ReplyDeleteI have never eaten Edamame's before. I am interested in trying them though. Now I need to find them. No big stores here. I'll let you know!!! I like boiled peanuts if they are done right.
See you tomorrow on Pinkie day.
Hugs...Jeanne
I'm going to have to try some of these. I've never even heard of them. Thanks for the info. laurie
ReplyDeleteWe have enjoyed edamame in the past, but it has been awhile since I have bought any. I'm glad you reminded me because I think my daughter would really love it.
