A Pink Slip for Elected Officials

I usually don't do too many posts on politics, but found this to be interesting, and since it is Pink Saturday, it fit right in! Visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for other less controversial pink posts!

Do you sometimes wonder how on earth our country has gotten into this economic mess we are in? Read on to learn about a Grassroots movement to change things!

If you are sick of some of the corruption and lack of responsibility of some members of congress, you might be interested in the Kick Them All Out campaign.

This statement from the site really hit home with me:

So you see, the real problem isn't the Congress. The real problem is US. We never hold any of them accountable. We just keep allowing them to be reelected over and over and over. We NEVER FOLLOW THROUGH WITH OUR THREAT.

Sounds interesting doesn't it? Check it out!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Pink Saturday.

  1. HAPPY PINK SATURDAY
I THINK I WILL USE THAT......IF PEOPLE STARTED SENDING THESE TO OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS THEY MIGHT GET A HINT THEY ARE THERE BECAUSE WE, THE PEOPLE, OR SOME OF US, PUT THEM THERE.

  2. Diane this is great, everyone that reads your post today needs to send one of these letters to everyone that represents them as well as us. It is really got to stop. Connor and Cooper will be paying for all this spending in their generation.Washington needs
    3/4 of these pink slips.

  5. Happy Pink Saturday, Diane.

I so agree with you - the problem is with us. Most of us have become complacent in our lives. We need to rally together with the patriotism and love of our country which our founding fathers fought for and shared.

  7. Well Diane, while I do agree with what you are saying, I won't comment on it for fear that I won't be able to stop. Happy Pink Saturday and please note that the name I sign off on is not my Pink Saturday post, Char

  12. Hi
Someone sent me an email about something for April Fool's Day.
Everyone should mail a tea bag ( a la Boston Tea Party) to their reps in Washington!
I thought it was a great idea!

  17. A picture IS worth a thousand words!! I agree..if we the people would start holding accountable the people we elect to office perhaps these officials would take into consideration our thoughts and feelings instead of their own!!

    Happy Pink Saturday.

  21. My husband happened to order Religiousity with Bill Mahar on Netflix. We watched it a few weeks ago. He was interviewing one congressman who kept using words that weren't even words. Sounded like a real stupid guy. An elected official in Arkansas, I believe (the state where I was born.) They highlighted the "words" at the top of the screen.

  22. Definitely sounds like a good idea. If I do a lousy job, no matter how long my contract is for, I'd get fired. Why not them?

  23. Awesome PINK post. Gives us all something to think about. Stop laying blame and DO something to make a change.

  24. I agree...we need to kick out all their rotten old corrupt butts and try to find people with fresh ideas...and then we need to hold THEM ACCOUNTABLE! If you don't do the right thing...you're gone! Would any of us keep our jobs if we did the kind of stupid stuff they're doing?

  27. Brilliant! They seem to think we work for them instead of the other way around. BTW - it's time to cut their pay during this budget crisis!
