Last week I helped give a tour to a group of teachers of Merrehope, an antebellum home in our town. I took a moment to snap pictures of these gifts that feature sayings in the gift shop.

Diane, I love your sayings...and I do have one I use alot and not only about things in my life, but sometimes when I am talking to my boys...I say to them...."If it's not one thing, it's your Mother", then I look at them and smile...it kind of helps ease the discussion we have just had.

ReplyDeleteI love these! After my brother-in-law lived in Alabama for 2 years he came home explaining the reality of the first one! He's been home for 20ish years and still uses y'all!

ReplyDeleteGood morning Diane, I do love these sayings. A fun read today. Yes, I have a couple to share. My mom always said, "Pride feels no pain" I say, "Never tell your husband anything he doesn't need to know" and my aunt says, "I love a man with dish pan hands" Are you smiling yet???

ReplyDeleteWe are big wine fans and have a dish towel that says, "Forgive me for I have ZINned." :-) And on a similar topic, one of our favorite local hangouts has a little hand painted sign that says, "When life gives you lemons...add vodka." Ha!
Hi Diane - just discovered your blog this weekend and am enjoying it! Had to stop when I saw this. A friend once told me her daughter-in-law had a saying that she'd like to hang on the wall: "Just because you're loud (or louder) doesn't make you right!" If you've ever been around...people who like to argue, you know this hits home. Another one I ran across in the Country Home catalog, was actually a sign or plaque that states "Be Nice or Leave". These are both my current favorites. Leslie
