2nd Time Around: Estate sale scales

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc.

This balance scale is one that came from an estate sale a few years back. Last year, I used it in the fall to display the ceramic pumpkins everyone was buying from the Dollar Tree. I’ve also used it to display small potted plants. It’s one of my favorite estate sale pieces.

How smart to use it for the pumpkins. I've got some of those scales. I'm going to have to put some pumpkins in mine. Yours is so pretty. No wonder it's one of your favorite estate sale purchases. laurie

That's a beautiful scale, Diane. I love the aged patina of the brass and it looks very heavy. Don't you love treasures like that that you can use year-round!

I love it! Great find. We went to rummage sales last weekend. The only ones so far this year for us. Finding items like your scale is so much fun!

Checking in with you, Diane. I haven't had a computer for what seems like FOREVER! And a break before that. I'm on a borrowed one now.

That's very clever what you did with those scales, and I bet they are equally wonderful with Christmas pretties in them. That was a neat find!

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Diane, just stopping by to say hello. I do miss you girl. I keep hoping you will be inspired to blog again more often. You are so good at it Diane. However, I do understand when you aren't feeling the inspiration, it just isn't easy to do.

Have a wonderful evening Diane.

I've always loved scales! My in-laws kept one on their coffee table for years. My MIL never displayed anything on the scales but the pumpkins sure are a great idea. Now you've got me thinking...I wonder where my in-laws scales ended up? I haven't seen it for a number of years now.

Oh WOW!!! That scale is TO DIE FOR!!! My grandmother had one on her coffee table when I was little and I remember it clear as day...even though I had to have only been about 3 at the time. She kept faux grapes on it and I can remember pulling them off and wanting to eat them! LOL!! (sorry if this is TMI!!)I would LOOOOOVE to find one like it!
