2nd Time Around: A new coffee table (at least to me!)

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog.

One day last week I had a chance to preview some stuff that a friend of a friend was selling. I have been looking for a coffee table for our bonus room with a shelf that could be used for a TV table. The ceilings are a funny shape, and I need something not too tall. I found this little mahogany coffee table for 20 dollars! So…..I decided to try it out in the living area for now. We have always thought we didn’t want one because of space, but I really like the way it looks. It needs some of the scratches and nicks fixed…but you can get the general idea. Not bad piece for 20 bucks!

The coffee table belong to the girl’s mother, and she was remodeling her home and decided to part with it.  I think she was glad the table went to a good home! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Great table!! I don't know if you have heard of Old English Scratch cover but it is great for hiding all those knicks and scratches- I use it all the time and it makes furniture look new- I think it must have a little stain or something in it as it is dark and it will get under you fingernails (I was using some today for a piece that I was selling in my booth and my fingernails look like they had been digging in the dirt all day so you might want to wear gloves when you use it!)

  6. What tickles me, is that like me, you already had something to put on it! See, you NEEDED that table, or did that table need you? LOL! Like the way the fall veggies look in the tray too!

  8. Good morning Diane, I love the coffee table. It very like one I had for years. Then my daughter took it for even more years. Our poodle Babette teethed on it and took off a good part of the corner on one end. It was, I did say was, a part of our family history and now it is history. Diana finally replaced it. I loved the two levels it had. A great purchase for $20. and it looks great with the fall look.

I am sharing my grands today, I hope you don't mind. I am linking up because these costumes are all 2nd time around.

Have a wonderful day. I bet you are having fun helping with your son's booth. This business is fun but not easy to make a living.

    Hugs xoxo, Jeanne

  9. Diane, I really like it. I think it's perfect. Just get a wax pencil (colored mahogany) to fill in any scratches. You did great with that.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  16. I've been looking for a coffee table for months. I tripped over the dog and fell on the last one, breaking my computer, the table, and almost my neck. The dog slept right on. Anyway, a new one wouldn't look right, so I need to find a "previously loved" one, but all the consignment shops have are HUGE!

I guess I've been looking in all the wrong places. This one would work great! Nice find!

  18. I like it! It has character! I took the coffee table out of our living room when Tim was a baby. I just put one back last year. I like having one again.

  20. Good morning my friend. I was happy to see your comment today. Yes, we do love our new addition. I have forgotten what mischief they can get into though. LOL. I'm hopping to keep her out of trouble and loving it.

I hope all is well with you and your delightful family. I should get on face book more. I do like it but as you know blogging and visiting is overwhelming.

    Have a happy day.

    Love, Jeanne

  22. It's a GREAT piece and almost identical to my Grammy Sigman's. Every once and again I kick myself for not taking it. Alas.
