2nd Time Around :Vintage Tins

Jackson 005

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

One of the things I’m noticing more and enjoying buying since I’ve started my booths and Etsy shop is vintage tins. I recently purchased this one, and listed it on Etsy. It is from 1979 and is a reproduction of a Nabisco tin from 1914. It sold rather quickly, and the young lady told me that she and her future hubby were buying these to use at their wedding reception! I am always amazed at the creativity of brides and always love to see what they do differently….this should be so cute! Wish I could see pics of how it turns out.

This one was an estate find, and so pretty! It was the only thing I’ve listed on Etsy that sold the same day I listed it!

This one is slightly damaged with a dent in the lid. But people seem to like it anyway! It is desigened by the Daher company and was made in England.

So…it seems that everywhere I go I’m seeing these vintage tins. I always have to pick them up and check the bottoms to see if there is a date, or a marking of some kind.

Do any of you have any vintage tins? I would love to hear about them!

I love vintage tins. I have two sets. I really don't know anything about them. I will have to show them at a future 2nd Time Around and maybe I can find more out about them. Yours are lovely. Thanks for sharing. Thanks also for hosting 2nd Time Around Tuesday. It is a lot of fun.

I too love vintage tins. I like to store things in them and then use the tins for display. Yours are very lovely!

Hello Diane, I just finished my post for tomorrow. I will link up in the morning.

I love your tin and the treasures you are selling. I do not have vintage tins but I do have a wonderful old tin lunchbox I must share one day. It was a gift from my sister Carmen. it is the most fun gift ever. It is made into a pocket book of sorts.

Thank you for the sweet comment about my uncle. He was a remarkable man. The funeral is this weekend. We are all so sad but we must be happy that he had such a wonderful life and touched so mny people that loved him.

See you tomorrow, Hugs, Jeanne

I like vintage and newer tins, but here even with A/C tins rust. I used to collect the Norman Rockwell tins each Christmas, but they were beginning to rust and I was storing them in the house. I ended up donating them.

I've joined in today and hope I did it correctly. Thanks, Betty

I really love the black tin with the bright red flowers on it! So pretty! I do have a couple of vintage tins... One was for Tetley Tea and has a pretty sunflower design on it. The other has Queen Elizabeth II as a child on it.... then Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, along with their parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Since some of my early years were spent in Canada and I sang "God Save the Queen" every day in school, this has special meaning for me.

Hi Diane
Happy New Year I just started writing and I think you got it before I finished. I was saying I haven't see you in a along time and you have certainly been busy with your Etsy shop and your booths.
I like tins too and like to check them out when I come across them also...I also love teapots.

I have been making bird feeders out of them and during Christmas sold my teapot cup and saucer lamp.

I will have to check out your etsy.
I hope your Christmas was good and that you've been well..
come by and visit some time.
