This week I want to share with you a project that one of the vendors in one of the antique malls I am a part of completed. She searched for old antique and vintage plates, and glued them using Epoxy glue to a wooden board. She got the idea from an interior decorator who first saw this in an antique shop in New Orleans. I love the way her plate ‘art’ turned out! What a great way to use those one of a kind vintage and antique plates!
Have any of you used antique and vintage items to create works of art? Tell me about it.
i'VE SEEN this done..Cherry Hill Cottage has one she did by using plate hangers. Very pretty.

The "Plate Art" is very pretty. It would look great in a public space.
ReplyDeleteThis is really a great idea and what a way to use chipped china- you can hide it behind other plates!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the party!!
That is really neat, Diane. Amazing that you posted this because I went to a party a month ago in a house where a girl did something similar.
ReplyDeleteI have a bracelet that is made of vintage jet buttons. There are some lovely antique ones, too. I've always loved it.
XO,
Sheila :-)

Oh, Diane this is lovely! I would love to have some of the dishes she has used in her art for my china closet! Oh, they are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think that plate collage is soooo unique! It's really unusual and pretty!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, I am home from Florida at last. That was a long visit and a busy one. Visiting my daughters, grands and the blogging party was just wonderful. A lovely time, but home is where my heart is.
ReplyDeleteplate collage is amazing. I do think it must be heavy too. I spotted some familiar patterns in there. She must have collected them for a while. A very unique idea.
I hope spring is happening up your way. We are finally getting some wonderful spring weather. We ate lunch our our deck. Sooooo nice.
I will be joining you again next Tues. I have not had time to post much or visit. Until then, enjoy your week and have a wonderful Easter with your family.
Hugs xoxo, Jeanne
A great idea for display. There are only so many horizontal surfaces in a house.
