2nd Time Around: Art from Old Plates

 Jackson 005

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

This week I want to share with you a project that one of the vendors in one of the antique malls I am a part of completed. She searched for old antique and vintage plates, and glued them using Epoxy glue to a wooden board. She got the idea from an interior decorator who first saw this in an antique shop in New Orleans. I love the way her plate ‘art’ turned out! What a great way to use those one of a kind vintage and antique plates!

Have any of you used antique and vintage items to create works of art? Tell me about it.

  3. This is really a great idea and what a way to use chipped china- you can hide it behind other plates!

    Thanks for the party!!

  4. That is really neat, Diane. Amazing that you posted this because I went to a party a month ago in a house where a girl did something similar.

I have a bracelet that is made of vintage jet buttons. There are some lovely antique ones, too. I've always loved it.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  14. Hi Diane, I am home from Florida at last. That was a long visit and a busy one. Visiting my daughters, grands and the blogging party was just wonderful. A lovely time, but home is where my heart is.
plate collage is amazing. I do think it must be heavy too. I spotted some familiar patterns in there. She must have collected them for a while. A very unique idea.

I hope spring is happening up your way. We are finally getting some wonderful spring weather. We ate lunch our our deck. Sooooo nice.

I will be joining you again next Tues. I have not had time to post much or visit. Until then, enjoy your week and have a wonderful Easter with your family.

    Hugs xoxo, Jeanne
