2nd Time Around: Vintage Oil Paintings

Jackson 005

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating

A week or two ago, I blogged about oil paintings. That is one thing I’m always on the look out for at sales. Before my blogging days, I remember getting one for 10 cents at a sale, and selling it for 12 dollars when I first started my booth! Since that time, I’ve purchased several, and sold a few at one of the booths.

This one is 2nd Time Around for us because it came from my Mother in Law’s home. She knew the little lady that painted this magnolia (which happens to be our state flower)  and proudly displayed it in her living room. When she moved to an assisted living facility, we took the painting and hung it in our home.

I’ve often wished I had the talent to paint!

Thanks for visiting!

I wish I could paint too Diane!

This is such a lovely picture and it is so nice that it has made its way to your family home.

Best wishes and thanks so much for having me today.
Natasha.

love that flower painting.

ok. I'll link you to an article on how to draw a rose... perhaps that will inspire you to take some simple cloth or paper and paint a rose on it, and give a previously used item that lovely second life....

Good morning Diane, Your MIL's painting is really so pretty and well done. Lucky you to have it now. Good old oil paintings are always in demand. People love them. the secret is to find them cheap. Smile.

This is so weird. I linked up last night and my link is not up now. I was the 4th one one the list. I'll link again.

Enjoy your day.
Hugs, Jeanne

Hi. This is my first time to link-up at your blog! I collect oil paintings from yard sales too (usually small ones) - I love the personal touch they give my decor.

My favorite paintings are thrift store and garage sale finds, so your MIL's painting gets a big thumbs up from me!

I'm always sorting through paintings and pictures at sales too. This is a beautiful one and means more to you than a sales find.

I have several paintings by well known Mississippi artists that I bought at estate sales. I love a bargain, especially when you find that it is worth way more than you paid for it!

Oh that painting is fabulous. I wish SO much that I could paint -- but I'm afraid someone would ask, "Oh, did your grandchild do that?" if I tried.

Such a beautiful painting ... Cass
