2nd Time Around: New Paint for a Plain China Cabinet

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

This  cabinet once belonged to a friends mother, and after she passed away was unwanted by the family members. It was an ugly French Provincial style from the sixties or seventies, and was nothing to look at.

The china cabinet has been given a new lease on life with a coat of black paint, and unique hardware made of vintage jewelry and jute! The cabinet is in the home my friend’s daughter, and is a beautiful focal point in their family room.  I love how the black paint makes her bright pieces of pottery pop!

I will choose painted furniture over natural wood almost every time. :)

Thanks for hosting, Diane.

Wow -- you did great! I really like it now. Not so sure about those drawer pulls -- but very, very creative!

What a neat piece of furniture. It always amazes me what unusual idea's people come up with to inspire us!
