2nd Time Around: Vintage Santa

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

This week I want to share with you a vintage Santa that my son found at an estate sale in New Orleans, La. At first I didn’t like it at all, but the more I looked at it I began to see the potential in it. It is glass, and a bronze like color. We decided to put it in one of the booths…it is kinda late to be adding Christmas dĂ©cor, but maybe someone passing through will spot it and see the potential in this piece. Anyway, it is very unusual. If any of you have seen one like this, please leave me a comment. We would love to identify it. The people holding the sale date it to the 50’s.

Thank you for stopping by, and I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas!

What a unique Santa, Diane. Do you think he's made of mercury glass? I would definitely check him out on Google. He may be worth more than you think.

Hi Diane, I love this Santa. He is a treasure to share.

We are leaving for Fl. today. We will be gone for a week so not much posting will be happening. Christmas at our daughter's home will be a lovely time.
Have a wonderful Christmas with your family my friend.
Christmas love, Jeanne

Wonderful old Santa -- he has great character and charm. Sadly, I have no idea what he is, or where he came from!
Have a wonderful holiday -- Cass

Diane, that is one super neat Santa!

I hope and pray that you and your family have a safe and happy holiday. I hope the weather is kind to you in Mississippi as well. It's been cold here, but not terrible... well, except a week or so ago! ;-)

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year, Diane, to one of my very first blogging friends. I will always hold you dear.

XO,

Sheila :-)

I'm so curious to hear if you found out anything else about Santa...you made need to do your first ever update post! (Would you have to call it Third Time Around? ;-) I agree with Southern Lady that it looks like mercury glass in the photo...but from your description sounds little more gold toned. Either way, I love it. And the fact that he's from New Orleans...better yet!
