2nd Time Around: $1.00 plant basket

Welcome to 2nd Time Around! Please create a post showing off your second hand treasures, and link to Mr. Linky below.

As I’ve mentioned before, one of my favorite things to hunt for at garage sales, thrift stores, etc. is accessories for my porch. This basket is from Southern Living at Home and was only $1.00 at a yard sale! The original cost was 19.95. The piece has been discontinued, so I’m glad I found it!

This photo was made last summer…you can see how huge the elephant ears are outside the porch. I moved them early this spring because they were crowding out my shrubs, and obstructing the view of the wooded area behind the porch.

I will be taking a little break from blogging for a couple of weeks, so I won’t host 2nd Time Around until the end of June. Mr. Linky is so temperamental, and I hate to schedule a post with him if I can’t check on it!

Thanks for understanding!

Pink Saturday: More Bargain Plants

Beverly at How Sweet the Sound is hosting Pink Saturday. Please visit her for lots of pink posts! Thank you Beverly for hosting once again!

A few days ago, my daughter and I rode to a nearby town to shop for clothes. While we were there, we decided to check out the plants on sale at Lowes. These packs of impatiens in shades of pink were only 50 cents a pack with 9 plants in each pack! I bought four of them, so I have 36 new impatient plants that I can use to fill in empty spots in my pots and flower beds. You may be wondering where the fourth pack is…read on!

When I unloaded the plants, they were on the driveway near the car. I didn’t realize til I started backing out that one of them was too close. I realized as I rolled over it, that I had run over some of the plants! Guess I’ll be more careful next time. Live and learn as they say! Amazing thing is, the ‘injured’ plants are still thriving! Tough little things aren’t they?

Thanks for coming by, and be sure to check the sale rack at Lowe’s for some great buys in plants!

2nd Time Around: Estate Sale Bird Bath

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. I would love for you to join us by creating a post featuring something that is 2nd Time Around for you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, etc. Just link the title of the post to Mr. Linky below.

This week I would like to show you a bird bath that my son bought at an estate sale. It is in my front flower bed. I love the older aged finish of the concrete.

A close up view……

Thanks for stopping by!
