Pat of
Mille Fiori Favoriti and Barb of
The French Element have tagged me to write 5
embarrassing songs I enjoy!
Okay, here they are:
1. The Name Game
You know by Shirley Ellis: Like this..... Connor Connor
bo Bonner banana
Fanana fo Fonnor.....you remember this one??? Connor and I love to sing it! Here's a
link for the words and a ring tone.

2. Shortening Bread:
Remember this one: Get out the skillet, Get out the lid, mammy's gonna make a little shortening bread. That
ain't all she's gonna go, mammy's gonna make a little coffee too. Connor used to cry when I sang this to him. Cooper just looks at me like I'm crazy!

3. You Ain't Nothing But a Hound Dog: I love anything by Elvis. Enough said!

4. I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool: I never have been a big country music fan, but I really like the version by Barbara
Mandrell. Click
here for the lyrics and
ringtone.

5. Mustang Sally: This one makes me want to dance. It also reminds me of places I've heard this song such as in New Orleans in the French Quarter. We were entertained when a band at an outdoor
restaurant played this, and people got up and started dancing! Also, at
Ground Zero, Morgan Freeman's juke joint in Clarksdale, Ms, a group of teachers I was with cut loose on this song after a long workshop! When my aerobics teacher uses this song, I just get more into it!
LOL
There you have it...I would like to pass this challenge on to:
PammiejoAlexDawnRhondaBrandeeThanks Pat and Barb for thinking of me! It wasn't as hard as I thought!

Hi Diane,
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard some of those songs for years. I used to drive my family crazy singing The Name Game.
Thank you for playing along.
Have a lovely Sunday.
hugs,
Barb
Hi Diane! Hope you are having a good Sunday! I don't know, that seemed to me like it would have been the hardest tag to answer! I'm not a big country music fan either but I do remember that song. Hound dog I sing more than I care to when it gets stuck in my head for some reason and now it is again! Thanks alot!lol Have a great Monday - Jeannette
ReplyDeleteIt's so interesting to find out things about those we read online, isn't it? I think my favorite music is the sound of infinite silence (which means no hubby tv blaring), and birds singing. Anything they want to sing!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

The night our grandson Drew was born, we sang Elvis songs, in the waiting room. We were the only family waiting. You Ain't Nothin' But a Houndog was one of them. Drewbee was born on Elvis' birthday.
ReplyDeleteCute post, Diane.

Diane, your song choices bring back memories. Fun music for fun times. I think I would really have to think hard to pick songs. Good job. Smile
ReplyDeleteBlessings the Sunday, Jeanne
Hey Diane,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cook tag! I love The Name Game. We used to sing it in the car all the time when the kids were little.
I'm working on it - when I get home from vacation I'll conscentrate on getting my songs up there. I have lots of songs that bring back memories - not necessairily embarrassing ones though. Thanks for thinking of me. PAM
