A Famous Blue Gem

Sally at Smiling Sally host Blue Monday. Please visit her for lots of blue posts!

This picture was made in Washington DC at the Smithsonian. Do you know what it is?

Here's a much better one from the internet.
Did you guess the Hope Diamond? This room was the most crowded one in Washington when we visited the Smithsonian Natural Science Museum.

  1. I guessed correctly! I've seen that diamond in the museum. :o)

You asked what kind of camera I have... It's a Canon Power Shot SX10IS. It's not fancy-fancy. Just fancy to me! lol I DO love it though.

  4. I remember seeing it when we visited the Smithsonian as a newly married couple 19 years ago. It took my breath away and still does! Wouldn't you love to have it hanging from your neck??? Of course, you'd probably get whiplash! :)

  15. It's so pretty isn't it? I love the Smithsonian Museums in DC!

Van Gogh's "Starry Night" is being loaned to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam until June, Diane, so you have to wait until then to come and see it in MoMa. Hope I get to see you when you visit NYC! Please keep in touch

    Hugs, Pat
