Sally at Smiling Sally host Blue Monday. Please visit her for lots of blue posts!
This picture was made in Washington DC at the Smithsonian. Do you know what it is?
Here's a much better one from the internet. Did you guess the Hope Diamond? This room was the most crowded one in Washington when we visited the Smithsonian Natural Science Museum.
If you want to learn more about this famous blue gem, click here.
Yes it is gorg! I so want to go to Washington...I went when I was young but I want to go to it again....especially the Holocaust Museum. Have you been there?
I remember seeing it when we visited the Smithsonian as a newly married couple 19 years ago. It took my breath away and still does! Wouldn't you love to have it hanging from your neck??? Of course, you'd probably get whiplash! :)
I love that museum, but haven't been there for several years. All the Smithsonian museums are such wonderful places to visit. And that's certainly a beautiful blue for Blue Monday!
GM Diane..I guessed this one right..doesn't it have a curse that goes with this stone?? I will have to check this out..Great BLUE post girl!! hugs and smiles Gloria
It really is quite stunning but the curse alone would make me "glance" and walk the other way, lol! I'd love to visit the Smithsonian one day...perhaps one day. Enjoy your day and thanks for sharing!
I have a very vague memory of seeing that once. I used to live in Maryland when I was little and we took a school field trip to the Smithsonian. Oh, I wouldn't mind having that hanging around my neck!!!!
It's so pretty isn't it? I love the Smithsonian Museums in DC!
Van Gogh's "Starry Night" is being loaned to the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam until June, Diane, so you have to wait until then to come and see it in MoMa. Hope I get to see you when you visit NYC! Please keep in touch
Oh Diane, that is a terrific blue Monday post. Why didn't I think of that? Smiling BIG. You are so smart. LOL It is so beautiful but they say it brings bad luck. I wonder.
I saw the Hope Diamond many years ago when I chaperoned a visit to the Smithsonian. Thanks for posting it. I had forgotten how beautiful it is. Happy Blue Monday! Sweetie
