Unidentified Blue Plant

Smiling Sally is hosting Blue Monday. Please join her for lots of Blue Monday posts-you will meet some very nice friendly bloggers! Thanks Sally for hosting this event!

A couple of Saturdays ago, many of you helped me identify a pink plant whose name I had forgotten that I planted last year. The plant was yarrow and I really appreciate those of you who named it for me. I won’t forget this time!

Well-I have another one…this bluish purple plant is one that I bought on clearance from Lowes. I usually save the tags, but have hidden them from myself! So, if you can help me identify this plant, I would appreciate it!IMG_0778

And, I wanted to share this one too…it is Victoria Blue Salvia. I planted it last year, and it has come back this spring and looks great! I highly recommend this plant if you are shopping for perennials!

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you have a great Blue Monday! Please join me tomorrow for 2nd Time Around Tuesday!

Diane,

I wish I could help you, but names of flowers slip my mind as soon as they go into the ground!! One tip~last year when I started my English garden, I made a small scale diagram of the garden and wrote down the names of everything. It also helps if something doesn't come back or do all that well...you won't make the same mistake of buying it again!

I love the Blue Salvia because I am using a lot of blue, pinks and purples in the garden. Thanks for the "heads up"!!! Good luck with "name that plant"!!

xoxo
Jane

Hi Diane, Great flowers! These are some of my mom's favorites!

It is chilly here today, also. Isn't this crazy weather! The high today is around 55 degrees! ...which is very weird for this time of year for us. Hope brighter {and warmer} days are headed your way. ~hugs, Rhonda :)

Hi
Happy Blue Monday.
I love your beautiful photos .
I bought some of the blue salvia last year at a lowes sale and it has come back up this spring and is doing really well.
I am not good with flower names.I try but they always seem to slip my mind once I get them planted.
I finally started keeping the tags in a plastic ziplock bag with a note about when and where I planted them for future refrence. This has been a big help.
have a great week.

It's hard to tell from that angle but it could be a forget-me-not. They grow on a little stalk like that but I can't remember if the petals have a little ruffle or not.

Happy Blue Monday!

It looks like a type of Salvia...there are so many different ones. They usually are really good spreaders and very hardy.

People around here plant red salvia. Your blue is so much prettier, imo.

I think your unidentified plant is Nepeta, aka, cat mint. There are several varities and it is a great plant. Happy Gardening!
