I love plant stands, and have always wanted an old oak one! I finally found one at one of the antique malls that I shop at. Problem is I did not have a decent plant to place on it for the photo-so I used this pineapple from the thrift store! Maybe I’ll get one soon!

2nd Time Around: A new wicker table!

With all my shopping I do for my booths, and the time I spend at the booths, every now and then I find something I just have to have for myself!

This past week was one of those weeks! I found this great wicker table that is almost a perfect match to my wicker sofa! It was a great price too…so I bought it home with me!

I have it in place and put a couple of things on it for the photo…now it has to be decorated. Hope it will inspire me to spend more time on my screened porch! I really love it there! :)

Thanks for coming by, and hope you will link up with 2nd Time Around!

2nd Time Around: Special Visitors at the Flea Market

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

We had very special visitors last week at the 45 Flea Market and Antiques in Meridian. Eddie Ross and Jaithan Kochlar who write a column for Southern Living and Woman’s Day on Flea Market finds visited us.

You can read more about it on the Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/45fleamarketantiques

I have been reading Eddie Ross’s blog for several years, and immediately knew who they were! I felt like I was meeting a celebrity! Eddie and Jaithan shopped the flea market for items for the article. I don’t know if they will use it, but the gold jewelry box in his hand was picked for a makeover. It was a local estate purchase.

This picture shows more of their purchases: A brass door knocker and numbers from New Orleans estates-both from my son’s booth.

They also purchased this Mississippi basket that I had redone long ago and had in a corner of my booth for Connor. He has his own shelves and helped me with my booth last summer. They plan to remake this with a Mississippi map…don’t know why I didn’t think of that!

It was great meeting them, and getting inspired by their ideas. The article on the Flea Market will be published next spring, and I’ll be sure to let you know!

2nd Time Around: Cabinet from the Sixties

I apologize for doing a 2nd Time Around post last week, but we were out of town. I thought I would have internet access, but it didn’t work out.

So, this week I’m sharing a beautiful cabinet from the sixties that is in one of my son’s antique booths. It is so much prettier in person than in the picture! I wish I had room for it in my house, but I would have to get rid of something if I added this piece. It is hand painted from the sixties, and looks great with books, collectibles, or whatever you want! It came from a New Orleans estate sale.
