2nd Time Around: Marble Top Furniture

Jackson 005

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating

I try to buy small pieces of furniture for my antique booth when I can get it at a good price-cheap enough to resale and make a little bit. One Saturday morning, I was the first person at a garage sale, and found this little marble top sideboard. I came really close to keeping it for my house, but decided to ‘try’ to sell it. It has been in the booth for a little over a week, and has been admired quite a bit, but had no offers.

I think I’ll give it a couple of months, then reduce the price a little! I know it will eventually sell cause it is just so pretty! I am really attracted to marble top furniture lately, and seems like others are too!

This is a great looking dresser that is part of a bedroom set. The bed, and two marble top dressers are beautiful –but very pricey!

I was at the same auction that this piece came from. It is lovely too-and priced about a hundred dollars more than my sideboard. I love it!

So, what kind of furniture are you drawn to these days?   I used to love oak, and still do, but find myself attracted to lots of other styles now!

Although in the past I've liked the simple, lately I feel as if I've been drawn to more detailed pieces of furniture. I've been more into natural pieces as well as white/cream, where black used to be my favorite!

I saw a blonde, almost white natural wood dresser recently and it was gorgeous! Thanks for asking and hosting! :)

Diane, I love all! The side board is really pretty as the dresser. The small table I adore. I need to find out where your shop is. I hope to come to Meridian soon. My Dad is having surgery there Friday, but I may not get to go, if they keep him overnight I will. If not I have a friend that lives there and we go visit her in July for a dinner. How I would love to come by and visit your shop! I am looking for a buffet but I have in my mind what I want. lol I also want a little side table to go behind the bench in my dining room. Not sure marble will go in that room. It has to be small.

Lovley furniture! I would love to have a booth...but I'm afraid I'd end up keeping it all for me!!
I always wonder how people with booths in Antique Malls do. Of course lately, pretty good since I can't stay away from there! LOL

Good morning Diane, I too love marble top tables dressers, etc. The ones you are sharing are all pretty. This type of furniture goes a bit slower now because the trend with younger people is retro anything. However , these are all classic styles and they will sell. I really enjoy your lovely post Diane. It is right up my alley. Smile.

Enjoy your day.
Hugs, Jeanne

All of those are lovely, Diane, but I especially love the simple lines and size of your sideboard. You shouldn't have any trouble selling it.

Diane, these are beautiful pieces. I always like marble tops too. The marble just gives the piece such personality. Thank you for hosting 2nd Time Around. laurie

Hi Diane! LOVE the marble topped pieces. Beautiful. I have one in my dining room that I picked up for a song, but needed restoration.
I love ALL furniture, but lately am drawn to little tables -- cheap, usually -- and useful!
And am looking for dining chairs as wel, not as cheap!

Hi Diane, I came over to ask a favor. It is my grandson's 13th birthday. I did a post about him and I wonder if you mind making a comment. I want him to enjoy the comments as he wrote some special poetry. Only if you have some extra time today.
Thanks so much.
hugs, Jeanne

Hi Linking up this week! My 2nd time around is in the middle of the 2nd time- haven't quite got the projects finished. I guess my tree cutting is a real 2nd time around- we used it as fire wood!
