Pink in Croatia

Beverly of How Sweet the Sound is hosting Pink Saturday. Please visit her to meet lots of friendly blogger who adore the color pink. Thanks Beverly for hosting!

In Croatia, the street markets were full of stands that sold crocheted items. In Croatia, the currency used is the Kuna. The rate is a little more that 5 kunas to one US dollar. So this crocheted sweater which is handmade would have cost about $16.00. Many of the merchants did take Euros since most of the visitors from the cruise ships are paying cash with Euros. It would have cost less in Euros…probably about 11-12 Euros.

I didn’t buy the sweater-it just caught my attention-probably because of Pink Saturday. LOL

I did however buy a crocheted dresser scarf from this merchant. She was happy to pose for a picture. The piece I chose cost 5 Euros.

IMG_1078 In addition to beautiful pieces of crocheted work, Croatia is famous for their neckties. Didn’t find a pink one though, but my husband did buy one to wear on the ship.

Thanks for coming by, and have a wonderful Pink Saturday!

The crocheted items are just beautiful. I think I would have purchased some of the handiwork too. Great post. Love the merchants face. Curious? Happy? Another Sale? Thanks for sharing. Country Hugs, Sherry

Isn't it funny when we happen to see or come across something that's pink, we immediately think of Pink Saturday? :-)

I wonder how long it took to make those intricate designs in those crochet pieces. Patience sure is a virtue here.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Those poor women work for almost nothing. Well, I know it's different in various countries. Wonder if the men make the same...
