2nd Time Around: Mirrors

Jackson 005

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

Last week I showed you some pictures from the new booth at the antique mall that my friends and I opened. I promised you this week that I would share with you which booth was mine! It was the first one! Lots of you had great guesses and comments, and I appreciate each and every one of you that participates in 2nd Time Around.

This week I would like to share with you two recent purchases-mirrors! Nothing makes a room glow more than a pretty mirror.

This oval beveled mirror was a recent find from an unique little shop in Tuscaloosa, Alabama called Ann’s Tiques. She is a retired educator like myself, and has put an older home she owns to great use-she has some antiques and vintage items of her own, and rents booths to some other vendors. I usually check her shop when in Tuscaloosa because she has such great prices. I got this pretty mirror for $25.00! I took the one that it replaced to one of the antique booths, and hopefully it will sell soon! I love the oval shape of this mirror.

The one in the picture below is made my at first booth I have with my son. We bought this mirror at an estate sale for a great price. It is not beveled, but has a beautiful frame. So far, no bites on it, but it does add some class and elegance to the booth!

What about you? Do you have a favorite mirror in your home?

Thank you for stopping by!

I don't really have any antique mirrors at home, but yours are lovely. Thanks for hosting 2nd Time Around I really enjoy it.

Hi, Diane! Neat mirrors!

My favorite mirror in our house is one that is a Louis Phillipe, and I got it for a great price many years ago. Currently, it hangs in one of the two upstairs baths. I love mirrors. The older the better, and I like the ones on which the silver backing of the mirror is starting to darken and even crinkle.

Are you still snowing in Mississippi? I've heard that you've had snow there several times.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hi Diane,

That mirror is so pretty! I have not come across any pretty mirrors in my thrift shopping yet. I keep looking though! LOL

Thanks for hosting this party.

I liked your mirrors, but my eye was immediately attracted to the sign that said "Everything with a green dot 1/2 off"

Funny how a sign like that just seems to jump out am me.

We have a big, heavy oval mirror at the bottom of our stairs that is a couple of generations old.

It is a really nice mirror, but unfortunately, every morning when I walk down the stairs, I find myself looking at myself in the mirror. This is generally before I have had coffee or combed my hair. It's a very scary mirror.

girl, what is not to love about a $25 round mirror...I would have run to the front with it.

Hi Diane! I love that mirror -- it's so classic. Love the lamps on either side of it, too.
You have wonderful things in your booth!

Cool Mirrors. I made clocks with some Ikea mirrors for last week. Don't have any mirrors like yours to play with.

Your blog is new to me! I enjoyed looking back through -- and I have attempted to link for today's party -- hope it worked. It must be fun to do this as a business -- I have thought about it, but wondered if it would fly. I suppose you could say I lack confidence!

I will check in often.

Greetings Diane! This may be just what I needed to return to a store I visited yesterday and purchase the mirror I stood in front of for maybe ten minutes! It is unbelievable and if I buy it, I will post about it. Although .... they also had an antique brass and glass cake stand with cover that I stood in front of for another ten minutes!
