2nd Time Around: Vintage Owls

Welcome to 2nd Time Around. Please join us by linking a post that features something that is a 2nd Time Around to you…something from a garage sale, flea market, thrift store, estate sale, etc. Please link your post rather than your blog, and link back to this blog. Thank you for participating.

Do any of you remember when owls were popular? Maybe the seventies and eighties? Well, it seems that owls have made a comeback. Any time I buy something for my booth that has an owl theme, it usually sells pretty quickly. Today I went by the flea market, and an owl pendant necklace that I just put out had sold!

These brass owl bookends were photographed to go on the Facebook page for the Flea Market. Later I decided to go back and purchase them for my daughter. She has decided to collect owls, and acquired quite a few. They were a great buy at only 5 bucks!

Guess this proves that if you keep something long enough, it will finally come back in style!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Good morning Diane, I do remember when owls were all the thing. My MIL had them everywhere. Her entire bathroom was owls with her rugs, towels, etc. I have an owl that I kept all the years by Avon. It was a large needlepoint and bargello kit. It took me seven years to finish it. HA! It is hanging in the cabin.

I think the owl bookends are awesome. Nicer then most and I know your daughter loves them. You are a terrific mom.

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Jeanne

Yes, I do remember owls. I know I had several coloring kits that featured them. They were popular in home decor. Funny how things are new again.

That is a very cute owl, Diane! I noticed at Christmas that there were a lot of owl things around this year. I'm always on the hunt because one of my best friends is a Chi O, and that is their symbol. I bought her the cutest ornament at Marshall's, and I found a pair of owl flannel PJ's at K-Mart.

XO,

Sheila :-)

I totally would have bought them for five bucks! What a great deal. You're right -- we would have an AMAZING time treasure hunting together, but we'd give each other some stiff competition! :-)
