Trip Report -San Antonio Day 1

Last weekend I traveled to San Antonio, Texas with my friend Janet. We met up with some National Board Certified Teachers that we both knew. They were in San Antonio training assessors to assess candidate portfolios. The first day we went to The 37th Annual Texas Folklife Festival. This event is held at the spot of the 1968 World's Fair. Here are some picture highlights of the day:

Janet and I posing in front of 'Texas Art'
A pair of Laura Bush's tennis shoes in the museumA Piece of Stained Glass with Depression Glass in centerA Silkworm Demonstration
A Bottle Tree Janet and I in the Replica of the One Room School House

You can see from the pictures that we had many wonderful experiences that day. San Antonio is a beautiful city...and the people were so friendly. Come back tomorrow for pictures of the Riverwalk and the Alamo!

Reflections on Bible School

I have to confess that I was a little 'cranky' about working in Bible School this year. The director (who did a outstanding job) moved the time to night...and I was used to mornings. I was still recouping from my eye surgery, and on and on!
But in spite of my attitude, Bible School was a great success and the Lord blessed me with a great week. Young couples that normally don't get to work cheerfully took on jobs and did a great job!
I worked in crafts, and Connor was in the 5 year old group. He had a group of wonderful leaders! Here are some pics:

At the end of the week, Connor said "Bible school has been so much fun! I want to go again!" all said with a big hug for me!
I am so thankful I had the chance to take him, and for the Lord's forgiveness in my lack of joy!

Pink Saturday # 3

My Pink Gardening Crocs

I love crocs. I have at least 3 pair, but this pink pair is my favorite. They can usually be found right outside by the back door, or on the screened porch. I wear them mostly outside when watering the plants...which now is usually early in the morning. This pair of crocs only cost 25 cents! They are one of my garage sale finds.
Here is a picture of them after I've finished my watering. You can see why they can't come in the house!
Thinking of pink things to post is a challenge, but one I enjoy. Since I started looking for Pink Saturday things to post, I am noticing pink everywhere!
Thanks to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday everyone!
