A Blue Planner & A Short Trip

Since I have re-retired, it seems that time management is still an issue. You would think that I would have plenty of time to get everything done, but for some reason I don't!

So I bought this blue planner from Wal-Mart. I like it because it has tabs that help you find the month, and a day by day planner. Also, it didn't cost a bundle, so it won't matter if I misplace it! I'm hoping it will help me stay at least a little more organized!
How do you stay organized? I would love to hear your tips in the comment section!

I will be traveling tomorrow with my friend Karen to Waveland on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to take part in a Keep American Beautiful kick off rally. It will be one of three across the country this year. Click here to read more. We are going a day early and will spend the night with her daughter in Bay St. Louis.

I will still be hosting 2nd Time Around Tuesday, but am not sure I'll have access to a computer to visit you until Wednesday.

I am planning to schedule the post and will get around when I return!

For more Blue Monday posts, visit Sally at Smiling Sally! She is such a funny friendly blogger, and you will feel welcome there!

Thanks for the visit!

I am also a re-retired lady of leisure now and having control of your own time can still leave you wondering where the time went.L.O.L.I carry a small date book with me and that helps to keep me on track.

I write my appointments on a calendar that I have hanging inside a cabinet in my kitchen. The trick is to LOOK at it! lol Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.

Have a great trip. I am retired, too, and have far less time than I did when I worked full time; I can't understand how that could happen, but it did!

I use a planner and take it everywhere with me. I would be lost without it!

Diane, I need to take a hint from you and plan! I fly by the seat of my pants most days, but if I'm in charge of something, I am on it! Blogging has helped me be a little more organized. I'm one of those squiggle line, creative types on most days, but I can be organized to a science when need be. ;-)

I hope you have a great trip to Waveland. I have never cried like I did when I saw pictures of the Miss. Gulf Coast after Katrina, and poor Waveland was hammered the worst next to Bay St. Louis. We have family and friends who lost everything in that storm. My cousin is a Hurricane Hunter and came home to find nothing left (but he is still there and has moved on with a smile on his handsome face). There are so many sad stories, but I am so thankful that there are good people like you who are there to help. Hopefully, this rally willl help draw more attention to the area so that more can be done. :-)

Love to you and have a great trip!

XO,

Sheila

Enjoy your trip and safe travels!

I have a dayplanner, I've had for a few years. I don't know what I would do without it!!

I actually have something for 2nd Time Around Tuesday this week! Thanks for hosting!

I couldn't do without my planner....it's the compact size ( not tiny though) from Franklin Covey. It fits in most of my purses...., I carry my Driver's License in it along with my credit cards so actually I'm using it as a wallet. This way I always have to have it with me. :) I keep it here on my desk while I'm here at home....which I usually am. I got into the habit of using it so many years ago that now I feel lost without it. And as funny as it seems, I think you also have to like the look and feel of your planner if you're going to use it consistently....and yours being in that lovely blue....I think you've got a good start on it!

Have a great and safe trip. I have used a date planner for most of my adult life. It's a good thing that I do because sometimes I find appointments scheduled that I don't even remember writing in my planner.

Hi Diane...Friends have asked me what I do all day...I say, I don't know...but it takes me all day to do it! Maybe a planner is what I need too. Your home looked so pretty in the snow pictures you took in the previous post...just now getting by to see them. Have a safe trip! ;-) Bo

Diane, I hope you have a good and safe trip and find conditions in Bay St. Louis better than they were when we were there last summer.

I'll look forward to hearing about the rally and seeing your pictures of Bay St. Louis and Waveland as they are now.

Take care ...

I am also retired and I use Hallmark calendar on my desktop where I enter all my appts, everybody's birthdays, anniversary, etc, and everything else that I want to be reminded of. It automatically reminds me every morning when I go to my desk which I do everyday....Christine

Have a great trip..nice that you are travelling with a friend.

Buying the organizer is a good idea just keep putting in your thoughts and things you need to get done at some point...and things you need to work at now.

I think thats a helpful idea..I have a notebook I segregate things I need to organize/do in order of priority (to me).

I see you had snow! As you don't get it too often enjoy I guess. I hope it warms up here soon.

see you when you are back.

Oh,how I wish I knew! I've tried every idea under the sun. I crave organization, but somehow I just can't achieve anything close! Please, get everybody's tips and write THE BOOK! I'll buy the first copy.

I have two questions......

Where does all the paperwork come from.

Where can I hide it?

Hugs and Happy Monday!

Hi busy gal!

Love your organizer. Please don't lose it! If you are like me, it will be filled with notes, clippings, business cards, new articles, etc... I would be lost!! At least yours is large enough not to lose!

Happy organizing!!

I spend a lot of pondering time on how to be organized. This is what I have discovered so far. The stuff that needs to get done i.e. eating, washing clothes, most cleaning, paying the bills, etc gets done and I don't have to plan for it as it is just part of a daily routine. But projects, computer time, crafting, piano practice, reading and a quiet time need to be scheduled as it is easier to let them slide, to say tomorrow. I also allow a lot more time for getting stuff done and I forgive myself for odd days. Good luck with your sweet blue planner.

Diane have a great trip and I hope your planner is a big help for you. I always try to be more organized but usually fail. Wishing better luck with it.

I have been gone all day and I am so tired. I think my post for tomorrow will be late. I will get it done though. I have to be in therapy at 8:15am. sigh.

Hugs...Jeanne
