When browsing through blogs the other day, I noticed that Melissa from The Inspired Room used canning jars to make arrangements for fall. I really liked the casual, informal look she created with the jars.
I decided to 'shop' my cabinets and see if I had any and I ran across this wire container and milk jug looking containers I hadn't used in years.
My original plan was to buy some fresh flowers in fall colors to put in the vases, but I saw somewhere (sorry I can't remember-probably on someone's blog) a suggestion for using Nandina berries in fall arrangements. I have Nandina shrubs, but the berries aren't ready yet.
So when visiting my mom on Sunday, we went in the back yard and checked out her Pyracanthia shrubs. They were loaded with these reddish orange berries! So I cut a few and used them in my fall arrangement.
The arrangement was almost free! I already had all the materials on hand except the mini Tiger Pumpkins I bought from Walmart, and they had been purchased a few days before. The only cost occured at the time would be the gas to drive to Mom's house, and I would have visited her anyway!
I really liked the way the arrangement turned out. Thanks Mama!
Hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Great arrangement, Diane!!! I like the casualness, too of the bottles (just like the canning jars)!

Jan
That arrangement turned out so pretty! Sometimes the most simple things are the most beautiful.
OOOOH Diane, What a beautiful arrangement!!! I love the bottles and the berries!!! Nancy
That is really so pretty, Diane! I love how it turned out and what a great idea to use those jars...
Oh my, that arrangement is spectacular. I love those jars. You are so talented. Happy first day of October. Great way to usher it in. Take care.
Morning Diane,
I LOVE that arrangement...simple yet really beautiful...LOVE those bottles and berries!!
Love your arangement. I know all to well about those shrubs. My parents had them at their home when I was younger. There were about 5 down the front of the house close to the road. Well I get on my bike to go across the street and those darn bushes were so big I did not see the car coming and bang I got hit and broke my leg. So I know all to well about those bushes. Even though I got hurt they do make some pretty fall foilage. Love your decor!
Diane, that is so pretty! and all natural and so simple! It is amazing at how beautiful they can be. I love it.
Beautiful arrangement! I love using Nandina, and anything else I have on hand as fillers to add a little punch to my arrangements. I love fall berries, but none are red yet, here.
Ah, you put me to shame. How spectacular that is. You even put the perfect placemat underneath to ground it too.
This arrangement is so unique and beautiful! What a great idea....I love it! Hope you have a great day!

Morning Diane...Those milk bottles in the carrier are so NEAT!...and I've always liked Pyracanthia thorns and all...such a pretty fall idea... ;-) Bo
Oh, Diane, this turned out so pretty. I may have to copy-cat (don't have milk bottles but plenty of canning jars). I guess these bushes with berries will have to be our southern bittersweet!
Diane, you are so clever. I love the festive arrangement. I want some of that orange stuff. smile. Bitter sweet would be good too. I need to put my thinking cap on. Now, where is it?
Hugs...Jeanne
Oh, Diane... these are beautiful! What a great idea, and the colors are perfect for fall. My mother had a large pyracantha in her yard and loved to decorate with them. This reminds me so much of her. Thanks for sharing.
Sheila :-)
Ohhhh weee that is me...that is me!!!! You couldn't have made a better arrangement to fit me to a tea..ok...check or money order!!! lol I am not kidding you girl..if I saw that in a store I would be running to grab it so quick my big hiney would be taking out everything on the counters as I flew by! lol This needs to be your Fall header picture...it is gorgeous girl...I am gonna try and save it in my favorites just to look at it any time...seriously girl this is my favorite centerpiece inspiration..hands down! Thanks for lifting my spirts so high this morning!
That is sooo pretty. You inspired me to go out and find some pretty fall wildflowers, minus the spiders and bugs, of course!
LOVE this! I love to clip things from the yard and have them as a fresh arrangement. Even just green stuff looks great.
This is just beautiful.

beautiful arrangement. I love how the berries pop out at you.

Stunning! AND simple! I couldn't love that more.
It really is amazing how the cuttings a handful of mini pumpkins made such a big impact. You have a great eye!
I'm doing so much better today, Diane...thanks!!!
From what I'm able to get from the different news sources, helicopter tours of the area and a new on-foot tour of the IKE damage in Galveston...from the seawall to at least Broadway...there is severe water damage. Most buildings are still standing and have suffered little structural damage...but SEVERE water damage just seems to have devastated the buildings and homes in Shelia's area. There still is no electricity or phone service in most of the area.
I don't know if Shelia has a cell phone...only have her land-line phone #.
Hopefully, we'll hear from her soon.
~Blessings,
Jan
Beautiful arrangement, Diane ... I love its simplicity and the colors are gorgeous. The old-fashioned looking jars and olive green placemat were nice touches.
You just can't beat natural materials in arrangements and there's an abundance of them available in the fall.
That turned out very cute Diane! Great job.
This is a beautiful arrangement! love, love, love IT!
Diane it looks great. I have bittersweet that that doesn't have berries yet. I can't decide if I want to cut them out of my rose bushes or wait until later in the fall to see if they will produce berries.
You did great for a free arrangement. Those are the best kind!
take care,
Dawn
Diane, the centerpiece is gorgeous!

I love it! The berries are one of my favorites and the pumpkins are just too cute. I haven't done my fall decorating yet but I will. Hope things are well with you.

Gorgeous!!! ~Rhonda :)
Diane, That's as sweet as can be!! I love it!! And I loved that you used what you had!!!
Gosh...that is really beautiful! I love the combination and those jugs are way cuter than a vase!
Wonderful Fall arrangement, Diane! I need to look around for containers, in the basement.
Diane ~ thanks looks so beautiful. Good job. Don't you just love pulling something simple together and having it turn out just as you imagined? I love it.
Smiles ~ Ramona
I sure wish I had bottles like that floating around in the back of my cabinets! :)
Your fall arrangement is just spectacular! What a terrific grouping! I loved your birthday letter and photos for Connor and that sweet little one in the pumpkin outfit! Grandkids are the bestest gift ever! I get to see MY little red headed g. girl on Friday! Dana
How fun to shop your cupboards and find treasures. Those bottles are fabulous. They look so nice all done up with the flowers. Very pretty.
Karin
Hi Diane,
Love your arrangement! Just wanted to stop by check things out again and tell you I have tagged you.
Cheryl
LOVE It ! simply beautiful!
Very cute! I love those milk bottles. Hmmm, I think the vacant house next door has some of those bushes in the back yard, I may just have to "borrow" a few berries from them!
Hello again Diane!
I officially caught up with your blog as I read all the posts between this and the last post to make sure I didn't miss anyhting. You always have good ideas and I'm soooo jealous of all the good buys you find at yard sales --no one ever has 5 cent prices on anything around here :-(
Love all your pumpkin and fall decor -- I have to catch up on that too!
Hugs, Pat
So, so beautiful. The arrangement is perfect and I love how you used something you already had to create something so beautiful for Fall. I'm stopping by from Lemon Annie's fall decor roundup!
