Christmas Past

Deborah of Pictures Pots and Pens is hosting Family Foto on Friday! Today I'm going to show you pictures of my own two children in 1985 as they were helping decorate the tree. This was one of the prettiest trees we ever bought. It was a real tree and was flocked with snow! I love their sweet smiles!
Here's Jonathan clowning around with a patchwork wreath I made when I was sewing. He was 4 years...a little younger than Connor. We still have this old chest and lots of the decorations...but not the wreath! LOL
Kelli always loved clothes! Here she is posting in front of our Buck Stove after she had helped hang the stockings!

Everything looks so 'Eighties' doesn't it? Dark wood paneling, etc! I cried when we moved from that house...there were so many memories there!

My Christmas pictures from years past are so special to me. I didn't have a fancy camera but always took lots of pictures and still have them all. My goal is to scan lots of my favorites and make slide shows of special pictures. The Christmas pictures are mostly done -I've already made a couple of DVD's of old Christmas pictures!

Thanks for coming by today!

This story sounds a lot like mine. We bought real flocked trees 3 times. We always looked at them and usually bought a green one because they were cheaper. We took lots of pictures too with not so good cameras. They're not the best quality but they are priceless. We had lots of slides and I scanned all of them that were any good at all. I made a couple of DVDs of old Christmas pictures also. I made one of pictures from 1958 the year we got married and it went through 2007. It's interesting to see all the changes in people and things.

Dear Diane
I also posted about my children today. Wonderful pictures and good for you for scanning and one day making a beautiful slide show. My hubby made a beautiful slide presentation for his beautiful mother when she passed away. Such memories to cherish forever.
BTW Happy Belated 37th Anniversary. RJ and I celebrated our 20th. We have a little ways to go to catch up to you LOL

Hey there,

My name is Dane Ensley and I work for Life Preserver Digital Archiving.

We take photographs, slides, negatives, 8mm, Super 8, VHS, and more and transfer it all to a DVD or external hard drive. Photos and movies take up a lot of closet space right now, but they don't have to. They are aging, losing their color, and feeling lonely in the dark. They are unorganized, jumbled, and chances are people don't truly even know what they have. Using our service breathes new life into old photos and media, often returning a better image than the original.

We do all our transferring at our location and our client's most precious memories are never out of our careful hands. We'll even come to your house and pick your media up. We pride ourselves on working intimately with our clients and we guarantee the ability to meet face to face with a Life Preserver representative.

Please feel free to contact us at any time: dane@lifepreserver.com

Hope all is well.
It's your life. Relive it.™

Diane, Those pictures are just wonderful! I don't have nearly as many pictures of Brittainy as I do of Tim. I love the idea of scanning them all. I noticed all my pictures in the 80's have all changed color!

Your children look very happy. That is the sign of a loving home!

take care,
Dawn

Hi Diane!
What lovely pictures you are sharing of your children? Don't you just miss them being that age? I do...and hard to imagine they have children of their own. I know its easy to tell the 80s. Its so distinctly different even when using some of the same furniture. Lovely.
Putting them on DVDs is a great idea.
Thank you for sharing.
Have a lovely day
Judi

Don't you just love the old photos. I am trying to scrapbook about 80 years worth. I was watching Christmas Vacation where Chevy Chase is watching the old movies in the attic and the looked so much like my old photos that silly me, I started crying.

Boy did I enjoy these "Eighties" family photos. Those were our 'Glory Days' over here, too. And I, like you, had a crummy camera, but still took tons of photos. I am so grateful for each and every one of them!!!
Merry Christmas.
