A Mississippi Snow

Susan at A Southern Daydreamer is hosting Outdoor Wednesday. Please visit her for lots more outdoor inspiration!

This photo is one of our dog Lucy and my son Jonathan on the deck of our old home. As you can see it does snow in Mississippi.......only every once in a while. Last year we had one snow. This year so far we've had none although New Orleans which is 3 hours south of here had an inch or so!

Lucy was easy to house train, but I well remember how she hated to go outside in the rain. She would just stand at the door, and go out only if absolutely necessary. Lately I've been wanting to get another dog. We lost Lucy after having her 13 years. She was part of our family and is still missed!

Thanks for stopping by. It's raining here today...so the only outdoors I'll get is looking at blogs on Susan's site!

One more thing we have in common: I'm a dachshund lover too! Our first one, a standard, lived 12 1/2 years and our last one, a miniature, lived 15 1/2 years. Oh, how I miss that little guy!

Wow...it snowed in New Orleans this year?! Crazy. It snowed here last night...not a lot but just enough to make for a miserable commute. :-)

Diane, that's a precious picture of Lucy and Jonathan. I keep hoping we will get some pretty snow and not just ice and slush.

Oh, well ... there's always a chance we can get some in February.

Thanks for sharing that sweet picture, Diane! I love it! I'm a sucker for a little boy with a dog any day of the week, and those two are both DARLING. Love the snow scene, too.

Wishing you much love and warmth on this chilly day...

What a precious picture. We lost our Blackie several years ago after having her about 14 years. I thought I could never be that attached again. Mercy, our little Boudreaux has stolen my heart.

It seems my dogs get to age 13 and die of one thing or another. I wait about six months, tell myself I don't need a dog, then get another one. It's cold and icy here today.

That's a sweet picture! I haven't had a pet for a long time and I keep thinking about a cat or dog. I'm just not sure if I am ready for the committment.

We get snow here, though some winters we get nothing. This has been very snowy so far!

take care,
Dawn

Hi Diane, it seems like I just can't get very much visiting done in the mornings. Thank you for your sweet comment about my desk. I have been busy today at the hospital getting registered for my Knee replacement this Monday. All is well and I just want to get it over with.

I love the photo of your son and Lucy. What a cutie Lucy was. I do know how much you miss Lucy. We are still grieving over Babette. Babette also hated the rain and snow. We are going to get another poodle towards the end of this year. We are taking a little break this summer.

We have had rain all day and dreary dark weather.

Have a good evening Diane.

Hugs...Jeanne

Sorry about your pup....you never do get over them....your story about Lucy made me think of my dog Griffey. He was a puppy in April and we still had some snow on the ground (yes, snow in April - Minnesota), he learned to do his business on snow. As the little snow pile was dwindling he would just go to the tiny pile. Then when it disappeared he didn't know what to do...
