Susan at A Southern Daydreamer is hosting Outdoor Wednesday. Please visit her for lots more outdoor inspiration!
This photo is one of our dog Lucy and my son Jonathan on the deck of our old home. As you can see it does snow in Mississippi.......only every once in a while. Last year we had one snow. This year so far we've had none although New Orleans which is 3 hours south of here had an inch or so!
Lucy was easy to house train, but I well remember how she hated to go outside in the rain. She would just stand at the door, and go out only if absolutely necessary. Lately I've been wanting to get another dog. We lost Lucy after having her 13 years. She was part of our family and is still missed!
Thanks for stopping by. It's raining here today...so the only outdoors I'll get is looking at blogs on Susan's site!

One more thing we have in common: I'm a dachshund lover too! Our first one, a standard, lived 12 1/2 years and our last one, a miniature, lived 15 1/2 years. Oh, how I miss that little guy!
What an adorable picture...buddies for life! So sorry that you lost your doxie...we have one, too! They are such sweet little dogs. Do you think you'll get another one anytime soon?
Wow...it snowed in New Orleans this year?! Crazy. It snowed here last night...not a lot but just enough to make for a miserable commute. :-)
Diane, that's a precious picture of Lucy and Jonathan. I keep hoping we will get some pretty snow and not just ice and slush.
Oh, well ... there's always a chance we can get some in February.
Lucy looks like she was a good dog. Lovely photo.
That is such a sweet picture. Your little doxie is so cute and I think you need another little companion to love.♥

Both of your babies are adorable! I'm sorry about you losing little Lucy, it's so hard like losing a member of your family. No snow here, thank goodness, even though it threatened. Kathy
What a sweet picture,we never forget the little friends who have touched our lives. I hope you will soon find another new friend.
Blessings,
Sue
Lovely post on "Friendship" for Outdoor Wednesday. Thanks for sharing such a precious memory.
All the best, Lana
Thanks for sharing that sweet picture, Diane! I love it! I'm a sucker for a little boy with a dog any day of the week, and those two are both DARLING. Love the snow scene, too.
Wishing you much love and warmth on this chilly day...
XO,
Sheila :-)
What a sweet puppy and such a nice photo!
Have a smiley day!

What a precious picture. We lost our Blackie several years ago after having her about 14 years. I thought I could never be that attached again. Mercy, our little Boudreaux has stolen my heart.
Hello..I loved seeing the picture of Lucy. We also had a mini dachshund that was red, named Badger. He as part of our family for 14 hrs. We miss him dearly. Thanks for sharing.
It seems my dogs get to age 13 and die of one thing or another. I wait about six months, tell myself I don't need a dog, then get another one. It's cold and icy here today.

Hi Diane
Love your beautiful pic. I'm sorry to hear about Lucy. Puppies always bring such joy to our lives. I think it's time also!!
Happy OW

That's a sweet picture! I haven't had a pet for a long time and I keep thinking about a cat or dog. I'm just not sure if I am ready for the committment.
We get snow here, though some winters we get nothing. This has been very snowy so far!
take care,
Dawn

The picture is adorable....you can have all of the snow we are getting today, because I'm generous like that....and I'm sorry you lost sweet doggie.
What a sweet photo Diane!
Happy OW to you!
Hi Diane, it seems like I just can't get very much visiting done in the mornings. Thank you for your sweet comment about my desk. I have been busy today at the hospital getting registered for my Knee replacement this Monday. All is well and I just want to get it over with.
I love the photo of your son and Lucy. What a cutie Lucy was. I do know how much you miss Lucy. We are still grieving over Babette. Babette also hated the rain and snow. We are going to get another poodle towards the end of this year. We are taking a little break this summer.
We have had rain all day and dreary dark weather.
Have a good evening Diane.
Hugs...Jeanne
You did get snow..I would gladly give you a bit of the snow thats still falling here..*sigh*.
I know your puppy will always be missed but you have nice pictures and memories of him...that helps I'm sure.. *s*.

Diane,
How adorable Lucy was. I bet it broke your heart to lose her. You never stop missing them.
This weather is driving everybody crazy! We just have to be patient I guess!! :-)

Diane you want snow girl come to Sunny Calif and you can make snow angels here..love that fur baby...sorry you lost Lucy...hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
Sorry about your pup....you never do get over them....your story about Lucy made me think of my dog Griffey. He was a puppy in April and we still had some snow on the ground (yes, snow in April - Minnesota), he learned to do his business on snow. As the little snow pile was dwindling he would just go to the tiny pile. Then when it disappeared he didn't know what to do...
RIP Lucy...she was family...
Diane,
Lucy and Jonathan looks sooo CUTE! Tomorrow suppose to be pretty.. Happy Outdoor Wednesday Katherinellen

Hi Diane, Lucy is so cute! So sorry that she is no longer with you! Your son was so cute, too! We don't get a lot of snow here either! This year was the first since 2002. I guess we are good for another 5 years! LOL! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Hi Diane
A pet is a part of our family forever ...they will always be in our hearts and memories. Maybe it is time for a new puppy soon.
I hope you are feeling better!
