Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year's Eve.

Last night, my husband and I decided to go to the movie to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.
The movie is based on a story by F Scott Fitzgerald, and was about a man that was born old and aged backwards. His mother died in childbirth, and his father was so shocked by his appearance that he left him on the steps of an old folks home.

This was a really different role for Brad Pitt, and I think he did an excellent job. The movie was filmed largely in New Orleans, and the scenes are very familiar to those who have visited there before.
I really enjoyed the movie, and would recommend it. It did get off to a slow start, but it didn't take me long to really get into it.

One thing about it, it will certainly make you think differently about aging!

Happy New Year,
Diane

Happy new year Diane!

I just read the short story by FSF this morning. It was interesting, but very short - I'm curious to see how they fleshed it out for the screen.

Diane, I definitely want to catch this movie! I've always liked Fitzgerald, and this looks like they did a good job adapting the story into a movie. On your recommendation, I'll be sure and catch it. :-)

Sending much love your way on this New Year's Day!

XO,

Sheila... who is so very thankful I've gotten to know YOU! :-)

We went to see it last night too. It was better than I thought it would be - after reading the critics' reviews (what do they know). It presented a really different perspective on aging. Overall - a good show! PAM

Benjamin Button was very Fincher-esque... almost as good as his other stuff if not for some nagging plot holes

We actually sat tonight and made a LIST of movies we want to see. I feel like every year, especially this time of year, movies come and go without us seeing them. We need more date nights! :-)

Happy, happy new year Diane...A healthy, happy 2009!
