Welcome to Trash to Treasure! Please link you 'new to you' treasures with Mr. Linky at the bottom so we can all visit you!
One of my favorite things to look for at flea markets and thrift stores is things for my porch. I haven't been out shopping lately so I wasn't sure what I would post.
I looked through pics from last summer, and found a picture of this old tool box that I found at a flea market in Bay St. Louis, Ms. It was already painted to match the wicker on our back porch! The plants are inside now, but looking at this pic makes me long for those warmer days! I paid a little more for this than I normally do- about 10 dollars. Since I've gotten so many bargains in recent months, I've gotten a lot more selective in what I buy! I probably would pass this up now-but I'm glad I have it!
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to visit the others who are posting a Trash to Treasure today.

Oh I love this planter Diane. Now that Christmas is over, I'm longing for warm weather again!
Hello……. !
Very cute all these pictures... I agree with your title..Great……. may god bless you !
love the planter, the furniture and wish it was warmer here too!
Diane, I am particulary fond of container gardening, and I love your use of this as a planter. One of my favorite things to do is planting interesting plants in unusual and interesting containers. As the country people around here sometimes say when giving a compliment: "You did GOOD"!

I have an old tool box like that sitting around. it is much longer but handmade -- this would be a great way to do it a makeover.
Hi,

I love it and it's colors! I'm glad you did buy it. I had a sunroom at my last house, and I so miss it. :O( Be thankful for that lovely porch everyday. We have a deck, and you just can't foof them up as nicely! Not that I'm lecturing you - I'm just a tad jealous (not one of my better qualities!)
Diane, I love it! I'm glad you didn't pass it up because it's so cute. I really like tool boxes, and they have a whole bunch of uses! Glad you got yours!
XO,
Sheila :-)
I've always loved the look of old tool boxes. Yours is beautiful! And the pretty photo makes me long for weather that's warmer than 20 degrees with snow storms.
looks like a very "cottage" style accent... lovely.
The tool box is lovely with the plants. You seem to find the best stuff! I am glad you bought it then and have now. I later seem to regret those good deals
I pass on.
It goes so well with your nice wicker furniture.
Thanks for hosting this party again:-)
Your planter is so pretty, Diane...makes me long for springtime!
I'm glad you didn't pass up that pretty little tool box, Diane. It's perfect with your beautiful wicker set.
We're going to the Coast Friday and I hope to stop along the way and find some potential "trash to treasure" goodies.
I long to have a porch. I love looking at the pictures of yours. I love the color and the planter is great! I'm not quite ready for summer yet, though the thought of summer vacation always brings a smile to my face :)
take care,
Dawn
Hi Diane, This planter is so cute! Makes me think of Spring on this winter day. I won't say cold day, cause it is 70 degrees today! LOL! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Morning Diane! I love things like this for the porch/patio. I had one years ago and for the life of me don't know what happened to it!! Seeing yours I may have to look for another one or maybe have my dad build me one! Looks great. Nice color for wicker too; a little different than most! Have a nice day - Sincerely, Jeannette
Hello Diane, I wanted to play along today but I couldn't think of anything to post. I'm working on it though. Hopefully next week I will think of something. LOL.
Your little tool box is so sweet for a planter. Truthfully, you are the queen of seeing possibilities in trash. I am lame at best. I can picture a room decorated but that's about it.
Love and hugs...Jeanne
I love the colour of your tool box/planter! What a pretty porch you have. Looks like the perfect spot to sit and enjoy your garden.

What a cool idea, Diane. You've always been one to find great finds in your treasure hunting!! :)
I also look constantly for things for the outdoors. At the antique mall, wherever I happen to be shopping. I'm just as excited over a purchase for the gardens as the house!

Love it! Saw a tool box this summer that was probably around the same price (maybe $15) and kind of kicked myself for not picking it up. I think yours is a good deal for $10. And I love the old patina (that's my HGTV word. :-)
