One of the things I miss most about not working is going to the Hope Village Thrift Shop several times a week. They take donations every day except Tues. andThurs. The workers get there at 8:30 and start pricing and putting stuff out, and the doors open at 10am.
The donations go out a little at a time, so you never know when something that would be just what you want will show up. Most of their prices are higher than garage sales, so often really good stuff sits there awhile waiting for the right buyer. Recently a local furniture store that carries really nice furniture and accessories brought in a bunch of stuff. These are pictures of some things I bought, all on different days ...all brand new with the price tags still on them!
I haven't decided where to hang the framed iron piece or whether to spray paint it all one color or not. I'm taking my time with these decisions these days. Most of the other pieces have a home on my screened porch or on my daughter's screened porch. I think when I retire 'again' I may try to get on the volunteer list at the Hope Village Thrift store. LOL

I LOVE all of those things....you know the iron is sooo popular and you got those for great prices!! That pineapple is great too and looks large....GREAT deals!! I would be popping in that store all of the time!
Bargains galore I'd say! Talk about being in the right place at the right time...you sure were... That pineapple is such an unusual piece and very pretty. ;-) Bo
I love everything that you bought, the urn and the pineapple are my favorites. Have fun painting and arranging your great finds!

P.S. Thanks for always commenting on my blog, I really appreciate!
I like your finds Diane! They are great!
That is nice stuff. I like the candle holders and pineapple. I also LOVE your tablecloth :) :) I drove by a couple of thrift shops the other day and almost stopped in, but I was just so tired I couldn't bring myself to do it!
take care,
Dawn
Oh,goodness! I'd say you did get some bargains...and they are beautiful. LOVE the pineapple. I wish I lived close to you!
That is some thrift shop! Wish I could shop with you:)
That pineapple is great!
If you like the color on that candleholder, but just want to spruce it up, try one of the Hammered Bronze spray paints, it will shine it up a bit, if that is what you want. Or you could spray it black :)

Everything you got is terrific and the prices..WOW. Love the pineapple and the urn.
Good idea about getting a job at that thrift store. With my luck they would want me to volunteer (no pay) and my cash outlay would be huge. But it kind of sounds like fun.

I adore the pineapple! It looks as if it opens. I have an apple that opens; I wonder if it's a match.
Now those are some seriously good deals...I can't remember whose post I saw it on...and dang it was just the other day...but they had a framed iron piece like the one you bought...and she painted it different colors depending on the season...I was REALLY cute. If I find the post I'll let you know. Have a marvelous day!
All that iron is so great! And the prices certainly were right. :o) I covet your pineapple though. lol Great finds!

I want to come with you! You get all the good stuff! :)
I LOVE everyone of your thrift store finds! What amazing stuff and I would definetly have to volunteer after Christmas when your position is up! LOL! Can you imagine the great stuff that doesn't make it out to the floor, and the volunteers "buy" first! Your black table is beautiful! $5...that is unbelievable!!! Great deal! ~hugs, Rhonda
Hope you will pick up your award over at my blog...."smiles"
I love all the iron! Great prices too. What are you going to use the pineapple for? I'm thinking cookies or dog treats. ;-)
What great finds! I think I must be the only one in blogland that hasn't had good luck at thrift stores. I just went yesterday and all I found was a book! I like the brown color of the iron candle holder. It's very pretty!
Diane,
What great finds. I always like finding tall things to add different heights to little displays. Your stuff is so cool.

Sue

You hit the jackpot. My motto is you can never have too much iron. And, it always has to be painted black!

Love all those thrift store finds. The candle holder would look great painted black and you could a fall colored candle in. The pineapple is gorgeous too. Stay safe the next few days. I know the selves at our Wal-mart are empty, maybe they'll have some more water and food today. Hugs, RoseMarie
