Trash to Treasure: A Remake of a Basket & A Winner!

Welcome to Trash to Treasure. Please post a link to your Trash to Treasure post below with Mr. Linky. I am going to be out of town next week, so there will not be a Trash to Treasure post.

I'm thinking of changing Trash to Treasure, so if any of you have suggestions, please feel free to post in the comments, or send me an email.

This is a tray I bought at Hope Village Thrift store. I just couldn't pass up a tray in the shape of our state. I thought if nothing else I would give it to one of my teacher friends.
After my daughter Kelli at Sassy Southern Mom saw it, she had an idea for a shelf in her laundry room, which is also the back entryway. She found a black sign which spelled out the word HOME, and also painted a black shelf. I spray painted the basket black, and used decoupage to cover the inside with brown paper torn into small pieces. Now, she has moved it near her computer and uses it for pictures and notes!

The winner of my Pink Saturday giveaway is post number 18 (I used the random number generator). The post was by Judi of Cranberry Blossom. Here is her comment:
"Hi Diane What a great idea for a Pink Saturday and also for a giveaway at the same time. Funny how with blogging our minds think in terms of colours and blogging ideas and digitals. Thank you for entering my name. have a lovely Saturday. Your header is wonderful...those boys are growing up right before our eyes. Judi"

Thanks to all who commented! And thanks for stopping by today!

So Diane, I have a suggestion. How about making it a little simpler and just calling it Treasure Tuesday, where we could show some new little treasure we found at a thrift store, garage sale, antique store or regular store on clearance. Some of us don't re-do our treasures and we're happy with the way they came. Sometimes I think I need to post something that I've improved on. Does this make sense at all to you? You can just ignore me too. :0) have a good week off!

Great suggestion Ellen. The name 'Trash to Treasure' does make someone think of redoing.

Hi Diane
Thank you sooo much for my giveaway. I left you an email with my address. As I said in the email our weather is looking more like spring the past couple of days although we have a long February to go still before we get closer to spring. But I will have my garden tools in hand and ready to go when it does arrive!
Its exciting to win..thank you.

I love the idea of your basket. The shape is neat and you've done a great job with it.

hope you've had a great day
Judi

Congrats to Judi on her win!

I love that tray, Diane, and that was a very clever redo of it. Like what was done so much!

Diane, I'm in agreement about making it a treasure post. Maybe call it Tuesday Treasures or Treasures on Tuesday. That way people could post something that's a treasure to them, and your event could expand to cover more territory.

I appreciate you hosting us and want to thank you for doing this, Diane. We'll miss you next week.

Happy T to T Tuesday!

XO,

Sheila

I, too, like the idea of "Tuesday Treasures." It's been hard for me to come up with something I've transformed from "trash," that I haven't already featured in a post. I think "treasures" would attract a lot more participants.

I hope Judi enjoys her garden tools and gets to use them soon, in spite of what the groundhog said!

Sincerely,

Janie

Hi Diane,
Treasure Tueday sounds fun. When I first looked at it I thought it was done with tile, a mosaic. have a blessed day.

Congratulations to Judi. She's a good blogger friend of mine, and I'm happy for her.

Diane, that's a good idea to fix up the MS basket. It seems black paint fixes everything.

Whatever you decide to do, I will support you!

What a clever redo of the basket! I too thought it was mosaic until I read your post.

I didn't participate in Trash to Treasure Tuesday for a while beacsue I was confused about the title. I also thought they had to be "redos". I'm a procrsatinator, I haven't gotten around to most of my "redos". *grins* But I thrift every week & have plenty of treasures to share.

Morning Diane..I remember that basket at Kelli's..it turned out great! Congrats to your winner girl..I didn't see my shadow yesterday ( I don't care what that 'other' groundhog saw! lol) so I am counting on an early Spring in my backyard! Bill bought me a new hutch for my dining room and we had to change three different things around in the house so I could put it in the dining room! lol lol there is now pictures and dishes all over the place...man makes you wonder why I'm sitting here on the computer like I got nothing better to do! lol lol Have a great day my friend!

I had an idea about the name that you might like...Thrifted Treasures Tuesday. That should give people the idea that these are bargain treasures. Just a thought...I cetainly won't get my feelings hurt if you don't use it.

I LOVE Trash to Treasure projects, but it seems at least half of the posts are just Treasures (which are also great). Although I've never posted (shame on me), I'd love to see the projects stay. Maybe you could add Fabulous Finds Friday? Or just do Treasure Tuesday and let me do Trash To Treasures on the blog I'll start someday (you know, right after I start posting all the good intentions I have on other blogs)!

Hi Diane :)

Great job on the basket!

I'm sorry about Lucy. I had to show Rich that picture, because he LOVES weiner dogs :)

Thank you for the offer to help me unpack. It's overwhelming, but fun at the same time. Now, blogging and trying to catch up.... THAT's hard to do after two weeks LOL

hugs,
rue

I like Trash to Treasure. I don't always make it around to everyone -at least in the week they post, but it's always interesting. I wish you would do a blog on decoupaging. I remember that was big when I was a kid, but I have idea how to do it. The basket turned out well. Congrats to the winner of your giveaway!
