Sally at Smiling Sally is hosting Blue Monday. Today I want to show you some of my blue exercise equipment!
Since I'm trying to shed a few pounds, I have been trying to walk everyday. It has been too cold to walk outside, so my sister and I usually walk in the mall each morning.
I have been wearing a pedometer, and am trying to get at least 10,000 steps per day, which was recommended by the dietitian. It's not as easy as it sounds, but after walking 3 miles which takes us 60 minutes, I usually have about 6000 steps. That means only 4,000 to go.
In order to pump up the walk a little and burn more calories, I am going to try these 1.5 hand weights. I bought them today, and haven't yet used them.
Hopefully, my sister and I can alternate using them! I'll let you know if they help! LOL
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Monday!

I really have to do the walking thing to keep things under control. You are right 10,000 steps are not that easy. It's a great goal and I wish you well. Hubby and I have added some resistence exercises to help with our muscle tone and that has been a good thing too with our walking...
Hmmm, I wonder what color guilt is because that's the color I am now! Thanks for sharing. Happy Blue Monday.
Good luck Diane--I'm right there with you! I have step counter, and I find it really does help me not only to keep track of my steps, but motivates me to move a little more during the day to get my count up. Every little bit helps!
I like your new blog dress, really pretty.
Have a Wonderful Day!

Way to go, Diane...keep on keepin' on! You're doing awesome! Happy Blue Monday!
I know Dr. Oz says everyone should walk 10,000 steps everyday. I don't even take 2000 steps a day...so I need to get walking! I often wondered how long it would take to get in 10,000 steps. Do you know?
Hi Diane...I need to get motivated to do some exercise...but....maybe tomorrow or next Monday..LOL ;-) Bo
Let me know if it helps, Diane. I need to shed quite a bit! I wish I could do it before March 21st.
I wanted you to know that I am going to try to do three days on the blog this week and three on next week. This week I'm doing MWF, and next week I'm doing TTS. There's a lot going on right now, and when I sign on to one of these daily events, I like to try and visit everyone. I just can't do that right now. And I'm behind on blog thank-you's. So I am going to try this and see if it works for me. I've got to figure out a blog schedule of sorts.
So I will see you on 2nd-Time Tuesday next week if that's okay. Just didn't want not to show up to the party. I know you will have a fun time because it's always fun. :-)
Sending love and wishes for a Happy Blue Monday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Good for you Diane! I used to try to get those 10,000 steps in every day. It felt good to know that I had done it. I've really been slacking off lately! I wish you a lot of success.
take care,
Dawn
well they're definitely blue.bless your heart.keep it up....ann
Three miles is only 6000 steps! Sheesh that seems like it should be plenty and you still have to do 4000 more. Yikes I admire your drive woman!
oH, I just bought some 2 lb. weights to carry on my walks...I think they will help...
Happy day, bj
Hi Diane, I wish you well and hope that I can join you on this fitness quest soon! I so need to get on board! :) ~Rhonda
Best wishes, Diane. I've always found walking to be my best exercise!
Diane,
I have the same weights, they really increase your heart rate since you are using your upper body.
Good for you w/ the walking. In spite of having the weights, they are collecting dust!! ;-)

Your determination is an inspiration. Go for it! You can do it!!!
Diane, good thinking. Walking, BLUE walking items and losing weight at the same time. You go girl. I would love to walk too. One of these days I will be walking for exercise again.
Hugs...Jeanne
I walk in the park with my friends every morning so I know how much dedication this takes, but it always seems fun when you have company.
Let me know how the weight work out!
Hi Diane
Its great that you are walking and keeping track of your steps...and now you'll be using weights too. Good for you. I need to do that also. I look forward to hearing how it goes with the weights.
