Red Hat Society

Red Hat Society Ladies, Brandon, MS
enjoy Tony and Tina's Wedding

Have you ever been to an event and seen a group of ladies wearing purple dresses and red hats? I had the pleasure of meeting a group of these nice ladies from Brandon, MS at the Riley Center when I volunteered to work the Sat. show. They were all so nice, and really seemed to enjoy the show. Meeting them made me wonder....why do they dress that way, and exactly what is the Red Hat Society? So, I decided to Google Red Hat Society, and found that they have a pretty impressive web site. The Red Hat members are described as 'the largest sisterhood of women over 50' in the world!

Here is FAQ link that answered all my questions .
Looks like fun!

Great post Diane. Wonderful photo of the red hat ladies. I know a few folks who are in the Red Hat Society. They always seem to have a great time, whatever they do.

Hi Diane!

I love Jenny Joseph's poem that inspired the Red Hat Society.

I've visited Italy, but never Paris -- hoepfully someday! My husband has to travel for his work and I go along whenever I can so this past Ireland trip was a vacation/work one.

I do hope you enjoy my blogs NYC posts --I try to go into Manhattan, now and then, and bring the camera and do tourist things. I've learned so much about my city that way!

Hope you drop by again!

I have seen the Red Hat ladies, and they always look and seem delightful.
And, how fun for them that they have formed this group to share common interest.

I love the caladiums in your banner. My mother always planted caladiums when I was a little girl.

I'm just a few years away from being old enough to be a member! I have a group of friends all born in the same year. Maybe we should celebrate our birthdays the year we turn 50 by starting our own chapter!

take care,
Dawn
